Stabbing Victim to Recover, Says He Didn't Know Assailant

Milford Police, on the department's Facebook page, said the stabbing victim is expected to be OK.

Updated: A 24-year-old man who was taken to a Worcester hospital Sunday with a stab wound to the chest told police he did not know who attacked him.

The man told police the stabbing took place outdoors, on North Bow Street, said Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin, in an email message.

On the department's Facebook page, in response to a question by a reader, police said the male victim should be OK.

He was taken to a hospital in Worcester with a stab wound to the chest, according to police.

The man was found by police near the intersection of North Bow and Central streets.

Me wonders why the police are not giving his name?
Mary MacDonald (Editor) October 08, 2012 at 09:04 PM
Hi there, I haven't been able to reach the chief today. I would not expect to see a victim's name released, regardless. That isn't something they would do.

Story has been updated with some new information from police...

Not providing the name makes people suspicious and curious. People want to know. I heard it's a name that has been linked to another stabbing in Milford.

I am so glad we have the patch to keep us up to date on the news. I just went to the Milford Daily News and couldn't find any mention of the stabbing. Thank you Milford Patch and Mary.

It seems that this town decides to not release information to the citizens of this town regarding serious crimes. I do beleive there was a murder several months ago and there has been no information other then "there is no danger". Personally I would think that there would be some sort of an update on that crime and hopefully this crime will be solved.

If you want an update on the Murder, contact the district attorneys office as they are in charge of it. As far as this case goes, you probably want to know little Johnnies name so you can proceed to pick on him, talk crap about him etc. But anyway, I think his name is John Smith.

I am not interested in the victims name. I am hoping that there will be updates on the investigation unlike in the murder. WHY THE F would you think I would want to pick on the victim. I am concerned for my family and only interested if there is a threat to the public in general or if this was a specific attack.

Would be nice to know if it was related to the murder that the police don't talk about anymore....
Milford Senior Man October 09, 2012 at 12:33 PM
I think the investigation into murder that occurred here in Milford a few months ago was taken over by the state police. That's why you don't hear anything.

As a former resident of Milford, I would say that North Bow street is a very bad neighborhood and a lot of rif-raff live or hang out there. I believe that is where the Milford Shelter is, so maybe it could have been done by someone who isn't even a resident of Milford. The police should know, but I doubt we'll hear about it till long after they solve the case.

The shelter closed many years ago. The house is privately owned but still filled with illegals. I would not be surprised to find out it involvrd an illegal from the area. There are cameras all around that store, inside and out. Nothing found on the video?
Tony October 09, 2012 at 05:03 PM
The shelter has been gone for years, and there is very little trouble on North Bow street the last ten to 15 years.

Except for this incidence, I understand. As far as the neighborhood goes, I lived in the neighborhood myself in the mid-90's and never felt safe there in the short time I was there. In fact, my friend got mugged on N.Bow over small change and is lucky to be alive. One of the reasons I left Milford, is because I couldn't afford to live in the nicer parts of Milford.
Tony October 09, 2012 at 08:09 PM
I think this is the first mugging since then.
Tony October 09, 2012 at 08:16 PM
Milfres, the Daily news say's a black man in his 20's was the assailent. Does it matter who the victim might be, or is it gonna be, "if you weren't here illegally, you never would have been mugged", or " their only gettin mugged cuz the Americans don't wanna get mugged"? Lol!
Raquel October 09, 2012 at 09:47 PM
if you weren't here illegally, you never would have been mugged".....honestly i dont think this comment is funny..." because u never know maybe if he was were he is originally from is worst.... and ilegal immigrants are only here to try to make a better life them.... and being mugged could've happened to anyone not just him.... and just because the shelter has been gone for a while doesnt mean that there is very little trouble cuz not everything that goes on in milford is put online or on papers........
