Search For Daniel Britt, 6, Upgraded to Amber Alert

Family Court rules an immediate risk of harm to mother and son.

The search for a missing six-year-old boy officials believe may be en-route to Washington state with his mother has been upgraded to an Amber Alert

The alert was broadcast state-wide at approximately 3:40 p.m. this afternoon.

Daniel Britt, 6, was last seen Jan. 8 with his mother, Andria Britt.  She is driving a red 2004 Ford sedan, with RI plates, 942-649. It has a yellow sticker that reads “Support your local farmers” on the driver side back bumper.

On Jan. 8, Andria ignored a court date and did not return Daniel to his father as part of a consent order awarding him sole custody, according to an Amber Alert posted distributed to press. This afternoon, a Family Court Judge ruled there is an immediate risk of harm to the mother and child.

Rhode Island State Police ask that if you have any information on the mother or boy's whereabouts, to call officers at 401-444-1000 or dial 911.
