Milford police and emergency crews responded to an accident on Fortune Boulevard Saturday night that sent one car into the water and six people to the hospital.
The incident occurred around 9:16 p.m. Saturday, when police received multiple reports of the accident, and at the time it was unknown if anyone was in the water. Upon arrival, police reported that all individuals were out of the water in the area, and requested a tow truck for the vehicles, according to police records. A large number of emergency personnel responded to the scene, as well.
As a result of the incident, police charged Elizabeth Facey, 21, of Milford, for driving under the influence of liquor, failing to stop/yield and operating under the influence of liquor & serious injury, according to police reports.
The incident occurred after Facey, who had been driving a car with her 3-year-old daughter inside, allegedly ran a red light and hit a white van with four people inside it from behind, and the van subsequently went into the water nearby, according to MyFoxBoston.
