Police Log: Youths Skateboarding on Stone Walls

Wednesday, Oct. 17

3:42 p.m.: A caller at Kohl's department store reported a shoplifter was in custody. Police are seeking a summons to charge Ashley M. Russo, 27, of 28 Luby Ave., Milford, with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

5:09 p.m.: An elderly woman reported a possible scam. She said she had received a call reported she won $5.5 million. The caller was advised to not give out any information.

5:41 p.m.: A caller said youths were skateboarding on the neighbor's stone walls, on Vine Street. Police spoke to them, and their mother.

7:10 p.m.: A caller in a grey Toyota Camry said his car had been struck on Sumner Street. No injury was involved.

9:02 p.m.: A BMW was repossessed on Congress Street. 

9:13 p.m.: A caller on Exchange Street said he was "tired of living" and had been drinking all day. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

9:28 p.m.: A caller said her ex-roomate on Pheasant Circle had gone thorugh her apartment and damaged some of the apartment, and made threats. Police spoke to all parties involved.

9:53 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said she thought a white pickup truck had been following her all day. Police checked the area but could not find the vehicle.

10:26 p.m.: A woman reported her boyfriend was threatening her brother through text messages.

10:31 p.m.: A man called saying he was in fear for his 8-year-old nephew's safety. The boy's stepfather had just called him, frantic, but the caller couldn't understand what he was saying because of a language barrier. Police checked and everything was OK.

10:58 p.m.: A police officer reported he was checking on a young girl who had been on the ground outside, on Jefferson Street, and was moved into the house. She was OK.

Thursday, Oct. 18

7:29 a.m.: A caller reported a possible scam by a female party at Dunkin Donuts on South Main Street.

12:17 p.m.: An employee at the state Registry of Motor Vehicles office said a man with dark hair was causing a disturbance. He was near the manager's office. Before police arrived, the employee called back and said the the man had "calmed down."

12:34 p.m.: A caller said the store manager at Midas was refusing to give him his car back.

2:16 p.m.: An officer reported finding a debit card at Milford High School that belonged to a Sharon woman. Sharon Police were called and said they would let her know. The card was turned in to police headquarters.
