Police Log: Yelling Man, Blocked Intersection

These are selected items from the Milford police log of July 19-20.

In the latest edition of the police log, officers responded to several incidents involving people who were described as being incoherent or "out of control," and received a report that cars were blocking traffic at one of the busiest intersections in town.

Tuesday, July 19

1:42 p.m.: Milford police and fire employees responded to a Jencks Road address, and took an 11-year-old to

2:00 p.m.: Police reported that while they were at the hospital on a follow-up inquiry, they assisted nurses with a male patient who was “out of control.”

2:49 p.m.: A 33-year-old man in the parking lot of , who was complaining of a racing heart and chest pressure, was taken to the hospital.

3:47 p.m.: A caller asked to speak to police about a violation of a restraining order. The woman told police her daughter had been in a grocery store, along with the person who she had the restraining order against. The defendant did not leave and “stayed in the same aisle” as her daughter. The two went separate ways after that.

5:25 p.m.: A caller on Medway Road reported an erratic woman driver in a Honda minivan who cut people off in the area of and . The caller provided police with a license number.

5:36 p.m.: A caller on Medway Road complained that drivers were blocking the intersection of Route 16  and Route 109 (Medway Road). The caller asked police to help clear the problem.

6:03 p.m.: Police responded to on Prospect Street after receiving a report of a shirtless man in white shorts who was “yelling incoherently about religion,” and banging on the bank windows. The man was taken to the hospital.

6:15 p.m.: A company told police it would be repossessing a car at the parking lot.

7:02 p.m.: A three-car crash, with no personal injury, was reported on Congress at West Fountain streets.

7:05 p.m.: Police received a report of shoplifting from . The suspected shoplifter left in a Volkswagen Jetta, the store reported.

9:06 p.m.: A caller complained of fireworks being set off in the area of Pheasant Circle.

9:52 p.m.: A hit-and-run was reported at the intersection of Purchase and Fountain streets. No injuries were involved.

10:37 p.m.: A caller from asked for an officer to report a theft.

Wednesday, July 20

8:14 a.m.: Milford ambulance and fire personnel responded to , for a report of a man who fell in the parking lot. The man was taken to the hospital.

12:20 p.m.: Milford police responded to West Street for a report of a two-car collision, without personal injury. The officer reported no damage to either vehicle. Five minutes after the officer left, he had to return because the two parties were arguing.
