Police Log: Woman Summonsed for Allegedly Slashing Tires

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Friday, April 25

At 12:19 a.m., Milford Police received a report from a caller who claimed he saw three males and one female engage in a physical altercation in front of the Verizon building in the area of Water and East Main streets. One man reportedly picked up a stick and chased another up Water Street. Police responded to the area but were unable to find anyone. 

At 1:05 a.m., a CVS employee reported to police that a suspicious-looking man entered the store wearing all black and a baseball hat and had made the employees feel uneasy. Police advised staff to call back if the man returned.

At 11:03 a.m., a caller reported that while driving, he struck two light poles in the area of Cedar and East Main streets. 

At 12:08 p.m., police received a report from an individual who claimed all four tires on his vehicle had been slashed. Officers subsequently issued a summons to Janet Mungo, 44, of Milford, for wanton destruction of property of more than $250.

At 12:09 p.m., police received a report from a caller that an elderly man left his car in the area of Medway Road and left his dog locked inside. Police investigated and determined that the man had returned to the vehicle with gas for the car. 

At 4:15 p.m., police received a report of three parking violations in the area of Charlie's Mini Mart on School Street. The vehicles involved were a gray Ford, a blue Toyota and a red Toyota sedan; police issued two parking tickets. 

At 6:45 p.m., police received a report of a red pickup truck with a male operator driving down an access road under the power lines. Officers responded and checked the area on foot. Police reported that there was no sight of the vehicle and that an access gate had been opened. National Grid was subsequently notified of the situation. 

At 9:38 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle near Sunrise Prosthetics and Orthotics on South Main Street, where they placed a Milford Man into protective custody.
