Police Log: Woman Sleeping at Laundromat, Woman Scares Off Prowler

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 16

5:34 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported his cell phone had been stolen from the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street.

7:02 p.m.: A police officer reported he found a bag of "nice clothing" in the middle of the road on Main Street, and returned it to the station.

7:27 p.m.: A caller reported a man was making threats to the staff at Alternatives Unlimited in Milford. The man was at that time outside the offices. Police and firefighters responded.

9:22 p.m.: A 46-year-old man who was injured, possibly in the ribs, was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center from John Smith Sports Center.

9:28 p.m.: A man turned himself in to police on a warrant. Michael Holt, 28, of 88 Rockwood RD., Norfolk, was arrested on the warrant.

Friday, Jan. 17

4:26 a.m.: A woman on Capitol Road reported she saw someone try to make entry into her home through the window. She scared him off and he took off. He was wearing black shoes and jeans. Police told her to secure herself in a secure room until police could arrive. An officer checked the surrounding area. Police continued to search but nothing could be found.

5:40 a.m.: A manager at Double Bubble Laundromat told police a woman with long blonde hair had slept there for the past two nights. He requested an officer speak with her. He said he checked his cameras about five minutes before and she was still there. Police responded and gave the woman a ride to an address in Whitinsville.

5:48 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Water Street, where a brother was reported to be banging on his brother's door. Police responded and found no issue.

7:47 a.m.: An intoxicated woman reportedly left the Spectrum Health Systems offices on East Main Street, and took a left toward Fortune Boulevard. Police could not find her.

11:05 a.m.: A caller reported a cat had been hit by a car on Cape Road near Big Lots and a woman was standing near the animal. Police responded and found the cat was on the Hopedale side of the town line. That police agency was contacted.

12:49 p.m.: A caller reported her 17-year-old was out of control. Officers responded.

1:12 p.m.: Police responded to Kohl's, where two men were reportedly stealing items. One man drove away in a vehicle. The second fled on foot. Police found him in the woods near McDonald's. Police arrested Christopher Allen Hampe, 51, of 97 Holcott Dr., Attleboro, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
