Police Log: Woman Shoved into Car, Noisy Christmas Party

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 19

9:15 p.m.: An officer pulled over a car on Dilla Street. Police arrested Andrew Marti, 22, of 20 Colonial RD., Apt. 11, Milford, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and a motor vehicle lights violation. He also was arrested on a warrant.

Friday, Dec. 20

10:10 a.m.: A caller reported a strange man was in her driveway on Whitewood Road, yelling obscenities at her house. Police responded but he was gone. She had a partial plate number.

12:23 p.m.: A three-car crash was reported on Dilla Street. Airbags were deployed. Police responded and gave one woman a ride home.

12:42 p.m.: A caller at Comfort Inn said a guest had not been seen in days, and her personal belongings were still in the room. Police found the woman had been at Milford Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, and was transferred to another hospital from there.

2:13 p.m.: A caller reported a green bike had been stolen from outside the Turtle Tavern.

3:45 p.m.: A caller told police he had gone to Milford Town Library to pick up his 10-year-old daughter, and was late, and she wasn't there. The father was going to check the Milford Youth Center. An officer responded. The child was found at home, she had walked home.

5:43 p.m.: Police responded to a two-car crash near the Ninety-Nine Restaurant. Police are seeking a summons to charge Matthew J. Paquette, 53, of 298 Lake St., Bellingham, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

6:14 p.m.: A caller reported suspicious activity on Legion Street. He said he noticed a man with a flashlight walking around behind his house. Police responded. The man was doing work on the house and waiting for the homeowner to get home.

7:43 p.m.: A caller near Bank of America on Prospect Street said two men and a woman were arguing in the parking lot. The men then proceeded to pick up the woman and shove her into the car, a Nissan Sentra. They drove behind the vehicle then headed down Water Street. The people were gone when police arrived.

8:20 p.m.: Firefighters responded to Green Street, where a kitchen fire had been reported.

8:44 p.m.: Police pulled over a Toyota Tercel on Main at Spruce streets. Police are seeking a summons to charge Espirito Castro, 27, of 63 S. Bow St., Apt. 2, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle lights violation.

9:19 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported vandalism to his car, at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. Police are seeking a summons to charge Jamie Sterwart, 20, of 6 Cemetery St., Mendon, with malicious damage to a motor vehicle and malicious destruction of property less than $250.

11:17 p.m.: A caller on Purchase Street reported a loud party. Police responded and couldn't hear any noise. The people were finishing up a Christmas party.

Saturday, Dec. 21

12:13 a.m.: Police responded again to Purchase Street, where the people from the Christmas party were outside yelling. An officer responded. Police told the owners of the house to keep it down.

2:19 a.m.: A caller on East Main Street reported a lot of activity going into and out of a house. He asked police to take a look. Police checked and everything was OK.

1:07 p.m.: A man in a silver Malibu was asking people for money outside Shaw's Supermarket. Police responded but he was gone.

5:36 p.m.: A theft of a GPS from a car was reported at Lowe's. The car was not locked.

5:44 p.m.: Police responded to a two-car crash near E Z Way Car Wash. Police were seeking a summons to charge Ideraldo Adriano, 49, of 19 Spring St., Apt. 2, Milford, with failure to yield to oncoming traffic and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Sunday, Dec. 22

12:42 a.m.: A man at Burger King reported his female friend needed help getting her car back from her boyfriend. The boyfriend was sitting in it, and refused to turn over the vehicle. Police responded and the issue had been resolved.

8:37 a.m.: A caller asked police to check on the well-being of two people at Shop & Save Auto Sales on Prospect Street. The people were sleeping in a car in the lot. When he tapped on a window, the driver lifted her head and seemed to be confused before taking off out of the lot.

11:57 a.m.: A caller reported his wife's purse had been stolen when they stopped at Mobil Route 85 on Cedar Street.
