Police Log: Woman Falls off Ladder, Domestic Assault Arrest, Intoxicated Men

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, July 12

5:00 p.m.: Police responded to West Street for a report of a domestic. Police are seeking a summons to charge Donald R. Terhune, 53, of 101 West St., Milford, with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

7:05 p.m.: A caller from New York City Children's Services asked police to check on the well-being of a 6-year old boy on Oliver Street. The police could not locate the family at that address.

7:43 p.m.: Police responded to Milford Regional Medical Center where staff were requesting help with an unruly patient in the emergency room.

7:47 p.m.: A father and daughter walked in to police headquarters. The father said his daughter wanted to file a report about harassing text messages.

8:03 p.m.: Police responded to Hannaford Supermarket. Police arrested Adam F. Cormier, 22, of 49 Pearl St., Apt. 2, Milford, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

8:46 p.m.: A caller reported a hit and run on Central Street, said a brown colored Toyota had struck his car. A second caller contacted police, and said he was following the car. Police are seeking a summons to charge Jason P. Gaudette, 21, of 98 Orchard Hill Dr., Windsor Lockes, CT, with leaving the scene of property damage.

9:04 p.m.: Fireworks were reported to be going off on Carroll Street.

9:23 p.m.: A caller said he heard screams then several loud bangs coming from the area of St. Mary's Cemetery. An officer spoke to the caller, who said the noise may have come from the Plains Park area.

10:09 p.m.: An officer stopped a Ford F-150 on Medway Road at Trettle Drive. Police arrested Amy L. Cook, 49, of 6 Plum St., Apt. 5, Worcester, on charges of OUI liquor, possessing an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, a number plate violation to conceal ID, and motor vehicle lights violation.

10:32 p.m.: A caller said he had lost a set of keys, and asked police to contact him if they turned up.

11:01 p.m.: Police received a call that a man had been arguing with his parents for 30 minutes. Police arrested Robert J. Hewitt, 31, of 58 Water St., Milford, on a warrant. Police requested an ambulance for him, for a hand laceration. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

Saturday, July 13

3:16 a.m.: A caller told police a man was sleeping on the ground outside the florist entrance to the Stop & Shop Supermarket. Police asked for an ambulance. He was taken to the hospital.

5:36 a.m.: A Chrevrolet Trailblazer was repossessed on Grove Street.

7:40 a.m.: A man who was intoxicated told police he was walking on the bike path, and was depressed and needed help. Police responded, and he was taken to the hospital.

11:51 a.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and asked to speak to an officer about the speed of bikes using the bicycle path.

1:25 p.m.: A caller said a neighbor leaves out trash three days early on Congress Street, leading to it being all over the sidewalk, and completely blocking the path.

3:03 p.m.: A syringe was found by a homeowner on Purchase Street.

4:26 p.m.: A crash was reported on I-495 northbound near exit 18, involving a bus rollover. Bellingham responded.

5:31 p.m.: Police responded to Kohl's for a report of shoplifting. Police arrested Kristy L. Giampietro, 34, of 56 Harvest RD., Apt. 1, Uxbridge, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

6:09 p.m.: A woman said her son was out of control, and screaming at her. Police responded and spoke to him.

6:49 p.m.: A 59-year-old woman fell from a 10-foot ladder. She suffered a knee injury and head laceration. She was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

7:27 p.m.: A caller reported a man appeared to be sleeping on a stone wall on Purchase Street. Police spoke to him.

8:18 p.m.: A caller asked police to help remove another man from a home.

9:22 p.m.: A caller reported fireworks in the area of Roland Way, possibly coming from a party.

11:35 p.m.: A caller said three or four kids were playing basketball on Dogwood Lane, and causing too much noise. Police spoke to them.

11:48 p.m.: A caller said a man was stumbling in the road, holding on to a beer can, walking from Dunkin Donuts on Main Street toward Sacred Heart church. Police could not locate him.
