Police Log: Woman Bitten by Dog, Tractor Trailer Noise Keeping Kids Up

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 16

6:50 p.m.: A man reported he had property stolen from his home on Central Street.

7:45 p.m.: A police detective removed youths from the front of Memorial Hall who were doing skateboarding tricks.

8:26 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and asked for police help in removing items from her mother's house.

8:52 p.m.: A caller said a man was walking between Auto Zone and Hannaford's and was stumbling around the parking lot. Police found him, and he was not intoxicated, but they gave him a ride home.

10:30 p.m.: A woman reported her son, who is in jail, has a girlfriend who was supposed to return personal items of his. She was supposed to meet up with the woman but she had not shown up.

11:31 p.m.: Fireworks were being set off in the Church Street lot.

11:55 p.m.: A man who was highly intoxicated was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

Saturday, Aug. 17

1:04 a.m.: a caller told police someone was in the Town Park banging on something and making noise.

1:08 a.m.: Three women said they were being followed by a white Charger from Framingham. The vehicle was now across from the BP Gas station on Main Street. Police responded but the car was unoccupied.

1:16 a.m.: An officer dispersed youths at the 7-Eleven.

2:28 a.m.: A caller said she could hear yelling between a man and a woman on Jefferson Street.

1:21 p.m.: Police were called to Milford Regional Medical Center, where security needed help with a disruptive man in one of the rooms.

3:17 p.m.: A caller on South Main Street reported a man was claiming to be from Verizon, and was wearing a white T shirt and a black backpack. He had knocked on his door and seemed suspicious. Police checked and the person was from Verizon and had proper credentials. 

3:28 p.m.: A caller reported a woman was bitten by a dog on Prospect Street, and the owner took the dog and then took off in a black Cadillac Escalade, heading toward Upton on Route 140. Upton Police were notified and pulled the SUV over. The driver was escorted back to the Milford line to meet with an officer.

5:13 p.m.: A caller asked police to stand by while her ex removes property from the house, to prevent further problems. He was currently yelling, she reported.

8:29 p.m.: A caller said a man was sleeping in a possibly vacant unit next to the laundromat, on Birmingham Court. Police responded.

8:42 p.m.: A man was vomiting outside the Milford Police Department headquarters. An officer reported he was intoxicated. He took him home.

8:43 p.m.: A caller reported three popping noises a few minutes apart. Police checked the area, on Congress Street, and reported everything was OK.

8:45 p.m.: A loud party was reported on Colonial Road.

8:57 p.m.: A caller said someone in a vehicle egged her neighbor's house on West Walnut Street. Police reported this was an ongoing issue.

9:05 p.m.: A caller said a tractor trailer truck was running behind his house on Pheasant Circle and his kids couldn't sleep. The caller said the truck was not supposed to be there. The driver said he was visiting his daughter for the night, and would leave the truck off for the night.

9:30 p.m.: A caller reported a house on the corner of Wayne Road and Debbie Lane had had a loud party going on since 4 p.m. Police spoke to the homeowner, who agreed to keep the music down.

10:13 p.m.: The caller on Debbie Lane called again, and said the music was loud again. Police reported the music was now off and the party would be breaking up.

10:36 p.m.: A caller said she could hear very loud music in the area of Courtland Street.

11:35 p.m.: A caller reported yelling and a loud bang in the driveway of a house on Rolling Green Drive.

Sunday, Aug. 18

1:27 a.m.: A caller reported people were on Green Street partying and playing music, and making noise.

12:23 p.m.: An officer assisted the animal control officer in getting a kitten out of a garage on Water Street.

1:05 p.m.: A caller reported vandalism to some head stones at St. Mary's Cemetery. An officer asked for a contact person at the cemetery to respond. A report was filed.

3:12 p.m.: A man fell from a 15-foot ladder on Lucia Drive and was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center with a possible broken ankle.

5:09 p.m.: Police responded to a disturbance in Prospect Heights Park, where a group of people were smashing bottles in the park and racing scooters.
