Police Log: Woman Arrested at Kohl's on Third Shoplifting Charge

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Nov. 21

7:00 p.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters and reported the theft of a phone.

9:06 p.m.: Police responded to Alternatives Unlimited on Church Street for a reported disturbance.

11:27 a.m.: A caller reported people were breaking up concrete on Central Street, with a sledgehammer. An officer advised the worker that this violated the town noise bylaw. They shut down for the night.

Friday, Nov. 22

7:24 a.m.: A caller reported she last saw her car around midnight, on Water Street. She said the keys were in the vehicle and it was unlocked. Bellingham Police then called Milford Police, and reported the car was not stolen and was instead impounded in that town. They had found it in a parking lot and it was towed.

8:20 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported a theft from a motor vehicle.

9:22 a.m.: A caller reported a hit-and-run at St. Gobain Containers.

10:22 a.m.: An officer reported he was speaking with several students on Grove Street who were skipping school.

11:06 a.m.: Detectives responded to Water Street. Police arrested Michael Joseph Chapman, 24, of 90 Water St., Milford, on a warrant.

12:36 p.m.: A caller at Kmart reported a male shoplifter had just walked out of the store.

2:27 p.m.: A caller at Kohl's said a woman with blonde hair had just taken jewelry and jeans. Police arrested Debra Johnson, 45, of 5 Cormier Cir., Milford, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense.
