Police Log: Window Smashed with Car Seat

Milford police responded to several disturbances overnight, according to the police dispatch log, including a report that a man had used a child's car seat to smash a car window.

Wednesday, May 9

1:11 p.m.: A man on Central Street complained that someone was putting trash in his garage. The trash was being removed, police reported back.

1:27 p.m.: A police officer returned a purse to a person on Court Square.

4:24 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Pearl at Granite streets, police arrested Delfim Goncalves Pires, 18, of 25 Sumner St., Milford, on two warrants.

4:33 p.m.: A woman told police a Toyota Camry was "hitting sidewalks and partially driving on lawns" on Beaver Street, heading toward Bellingham. Police transferred the call to Bellingham Police, and that department stopped the driver.

7:49 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and told police her boyfriend had smashed her car window with a car seat. Police were seeking a court summons to charge Jonathan Castro-Rodriguez, 20, of 19 Green St., Apt. 2, Milford, with malicious destruction of property worth more than $250.

9:25 p.m.: Police responded to , where a couple were arguing outside the store. Police determined it was a verbal argument, not physical.

9:55 p.m.: A woman told police a man who she has a restraining order against had tried to contact her. Police are seeking a summons to charge Michael Francis Roy, 31, of 32 Pine Island Dr., Milford, with violating an abuse prevention order.

10:14 p.m.: Police checked on the well-being of a man outside who was in his car. Police determined the man "over did it at the gym and fell asleep."

Thursday, May 10

12:03 a.m.: Police responded to a disturbance on Exchange Street, where a man said he could hear a girl yelling for help. Police arrested Walter Smith, 52, of 45 Exchange St., Apt. 3E, Milford, on a warrant and on a charge of domestic assault and battery. The police on scene requested an ambulance, which brought someone to Milford Regional Medical Center.

3:22 a.m.: Police responded to a disturbance on Church Street, where a caller said someone was banging on the door to the porch at the front of the house. Police were unable to locate the parties causing the disturbance, but arrested Richard A. Desimone, 43, of 50 Emmons St., Milford, on a warrant.

3:28 a.m.: Police received a noise complaint from Pond Street, where a caller reported loud music. Police restored peace.

7:12 a.m.: A 26-year-old woman who passed out at on Prospect Street was taken to

8:19 a.m.: An officer on a motor vehicle stop on South Main Street, near reported a woman was "throwing things out of her pockets." Police arrested Meghan McCarthy, 29, of Knight St., Woonsocket, RI, on a warrant.

12:21 p.m.: A caller from Verizon Communications reported that a vehicle window appeared to have been shot with a BB gun.

12:33 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and asked to speak to an officer about a vandalism incident.
