Police Log: Unconscious Man in Road, Cats Hit

Wednesday, Sept. 12

5:17 p.m.: A stove fire was reported at an apartment on Shadowbrook Lane.

6:29 p.m.: A caller reported 15 to 20 kids were being disruptive at Police responded; the group moved.

6:44 p.m.: A caller reported she hit a small orange cat at Paula Road and Congress Street, and it died. Animal Control was notified.

8:58 p.m.: A woman went to the lobby to report a restraining order violation. Police are seeking a summons to charge Antonio G. Peniche, 43, of 102 Beaver St., Milford, with two counts of threatening to commit a crime and violating an abuse prevention order.

Thursday, Sept. 13

1:11 a.m.: A caller reported that an intoxicated man was lying in the road at Hayward and East Main streets. Police responded and requested an ambulance to take an unconscious man to the hospital.

6:42 a.m.: A wallet found in the road near was dropped off at the station.

7:04 a.m.: Police attempted to return a found wallet to a man on Plain Street. An officer was not immediately able to make contact with the owner.

7:34 a.m.: Police received several calls for a motor vehicle crash at Dilla and Sumner streets. The involved drivers were Gail Corey of Milford and Amber Santos of Milford.

7:40 a.m.: Police responded to a two-car motor vehicle crash at Purchase Street and Ariel Drive. The drivers were shook up but there were no injuries, police said. The drivers involved were Sandra H. Gautreau of Northbridge and Edwin J. Roth of Milford. An ambulance was requested to the scene for an evaluation.

10:18 a.m.: Police received a report that a woman was down on the ground, and a car was in the middle of the road. It appeared the woman was tending to a cat that was struck near Dairy Queen.

10:39 a.m.: An employee at Mobil on Route 109 reported a person got gas at 8:30 a.m. and had not returned to pay.

10:44 a.m.:  A caller from Nancy Road reported three suspicious trucks in the area of his home. Police responded and found the trucks were doing work at 20 Muriel Ln. The Highway Department said the company in question did not have a permit to work there.
