Police Log: Unattended Children, Broken Water Main

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 31

3:42 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Hayward at East Main streets. No injury was reported.

4:41 p.m.: A caller reported finding unauthorized charges on her credit card.

5:12 p.m.: A police officer reported a water main break on Main at Fruit Streets, with increased water flow in the area. The Milford Water Company responded, and the Sewer Department was contacted.

5:26 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Dilla Street at Quinchapaug Road, police were seeking a summons to charge Pedro M. Dias, 23, of 9 Haven St., Milford, with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and having an expired inspection (expired November 2011). The Nissan Altima was towed.

5:46 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported on Jefferson Street. The white van with blue stripe had more than one plate attached.

6:24 p.m.: A caller reported he was involved in a hit-and-run on Main at Spruce streets. Several other witnesses called police too, and left a plate number for a RI vehicle.

8:43 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Genoa Avenue, police arrested Maria Tacuri-Chuqui, 50, of 282 Concord St., Framingham, on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

10:28 p.m.: A Toyota Camry was repossessed on Cherry Street.

11:04 p.m.: State Police reported a call from a screaming person with a language barrier, and were unable to get a call location. The cell phone was registered to an address on Court Street. Police checked there, and everyone was OK, no disturbance.

11:32 p.m.: A caller reported a contractor coming out of a van on Main Street was making a lot of noise. Police spoke to the person.

Friday, Feb. 1

2:45 a.m.: A caller reported someone had put something in her yard, and she was too afraid to see what it was. An officer responded.

7:44 a.m.: A caller told police a woman who drives a black Cadillac left her car in the Louisa Lake parking area, with two young children inside it. An officer spoke to the mother, who said she takes her dog for a walk in the area of the car. An officer checked back in with the caller, who said the woman does this all the time.

11:43 a.m.: A woman shoplifter was reportedly detained at Kohl's Department Store.
