Police Log: Two Shoplifters Arrested for Alleged Theft at Target

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, April 8

At 7:33 a.m., Milford Police responded to a report of a wire in the roadway on Vickie Lane. A landscaper reported to police that a tractor-trailer unit passed through the area and dragged the wire down. Comcast was notified of the issue, and the road was not closed due to the wire. 

At 10:17 a.m., police received a report from a caller who claimed a pair of her shoes had been stolen.

At 12:43 p.m., a caller reported to police that she had been involved in a hit-=and-run accident in front of the Sacred Heart Church in Milford. The vehicle involved was described as an older-model wagon, blueish green in color. 

At 1:10 p.m., police pulled a vehicle over in the area of Main and South Main streets. Officers issued a summons to Naji Lahhoud, 44, of Mendon for driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

At 1:24 p.m., Milford officers assisted Massachusetts State Police with finger prints regarding an arrest of Wemerson Costa, 32, of Framingham, on a warrant. 

At 1:36 p.m., a man entered the Milford Police Department to file a report of scams he has been receiving for several months. 

At 3:27 p.m., police received a report that tools had been stolen from a work site on Camp Street. 

At 3:44 p.m., police and emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident on West Street, where a vehicle reportedly struck a tree. The driver was reported to have had facial injuries but was conscious at the time of the accident, according to police records. The tree had been reportedly knocked down and traffic was diverted to Hopedale. The Milford Fire Department removed the tree. 

At 4:23 p.m., police received a report that a homeless person had been living in the woods by Woodland Elementary School. A blue tarp was seen about 100 yards away from the school with people reportedly present nearby. Police investigated and determined the are was set up as a child's fort. 

At 5:25 p.m., police pulled a vehicle over in the area of Dilla and Sumner streets, where they charged Faria Dias, 29, of Milford, for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, sending/reading a text message while driving and failure to wear a seatbelt. 

At 7:13 p.m., police responded to Target on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Officers arrested Marcilei, 36, of Westborough and Jacqueline Carroll, 28, of Westborough for shoplifting of more than $100 by concealing merchandise and larceny of more than $250.
