Police Log: Two Juveniles Charged with Shoplifting at Kohl's

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Friday, June 13

At 6:02 a.m., a caller reported that a white pickup truck with a trailer almost struck her several times in the are of Rte. 495 and Medway Road. The truck reportedly exited the highway and headed toward Medway. 

At 9:02 a.m., police received a report of a one-car accident with possibly injury near Exit 20 of Rte. 495.

At 10:51 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident with possible injuries in the area of Central Gas and Market on Central Street. 

At 11:17 a.m., police received a report that a man in his 20s wearing shorts and a rain jacket was going door to door in the area of Temple Street and Ivy Lane before leaving in a grey vehicle. Police checked the are but were unable to find anyone.

At 12:11 p.m., police responded to Kohl's on Medway Road, where two juveniles reportedly shoplifted from the store. Police charged a 15-year-old juvenile for larceny of more than $250 and shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise, and a 16-year-old juvenile for larceny of more than $250 and shoplifting of more than $100 by price tag tampering. Both juveniles were released to their parents. 

At 3:21 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious-looking man in the area of Little Stars Daycare and Preschool on Purchase Street, reportedly waving down cars and yelling for help. Police responded and determined the man was trying to solicit a ride and was transported home. 

At 4:22 p.m., the Milford Fire Department responded to Roger Street on a report of smoke coming from a home on the road. Responding crews found smoke coming from the home's second story, and determined that it was pool equipment overheating with no fire ignited. 

Saturday, June 14

At 1:17 p.m., the Milford Fire Department responded to Planet Fitness, where alarms sounded but no smoke or fire had been showing. The alarms, crews determined, were sounded from a duct smoke detector, and requested an Heating, Ventilation and AC company to assist. 

At 6:41 p.m., a caller from the area of Prospect Heights reported that youths were breaking bottles against a fence in the area. 

At 10:24 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle near Kmart on Medway Road, where they arrested Christina Ziegler, 20, of Attleboro, on a warrant. 

At 11:23 p.m., police received a report of an erratic driver in the area of East Main Street and Fortune Boulevard, where a vehicle reportedly crossed in front of another, crossing the marked lanes in the road. Officers responded but were unable to locate the vehicle.
