Police Log: Two Charged for Shoplifting at Milford Hannaford

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, March 18

At 5:40 a.m., police received a report regarding a suspicious-looking red pickup truck that was seen circling the area of Otis and Chapin streets. Police responded and checked the area and the vehicle was cleared. 

At 11:04 a.m., police received a report from a patron near the Registry of Motor Vehicles on Beach Street who claimed that a vehicle struck his car in the lot and then moved to another parking spot.

At 3:20 p.m., police responded to Hannaford on Medway Road on a report that a man described as a dark-skinned male wearing a tan jacket had been running across the parking lot after the store's staff tried to stop him from shoplifting. Police subsequently arrested Caitlyn Crossen, 18, of Franklin for shoplifting of more than $100 by concealing merchandise and larceny of less than $250 and Darryel Duquensnay, 50, for shoplifting by concealing merchandise (third offense) and larceny of less than $250. 

At 5:10 p.m., police received a report of a two-car accident on Cedar Street near Rte. I-495. Police subsequently issued a summons to Rumualdo Garcia, 46, of Hudson, for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield at an intersection.

At 6:15 p.m., police  issued arrested Anthony Mercer, 43, of Milford on a warrant.
