Police Log: Two ATVs Allegeldy Stolen from Back Yard in Milford

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Wednesday, March 5

At 3:40 a.m., Milford police received a report that an car alarm had been going off for about 30 minutes in the area of Union Street. 

At 8:03 a.m., police received a report of a two-car accident involving a blue Ford and a dark blue Toyota in the area of Barker and Sumner streets.

At 9:15 a.m., police received a report from a local resident who claimed that her son's cell phone had been stolen while at the Stacy Middle School, but were later able to track it to a location in town.

At 2:56 p.m., police responded to the area of Congress and Fountain streets for an accident involving a school bus and a car. Third- and fourth-grade students were reportedly on the bus, but no injuries were reported.

At 3:33 p.m., police responded to Whitewood Road and arrested Kalidas Patel, 66, of Milford on a warrant. 

At 4:48 p.m, police responded to Hannaford on Medway Road after receiving a report of a man who had allegedly stolen razors before heading towards CVS. Police issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for an individual described as a white man with dark hair, facial hair and wearing a black jacket, black pants and black shoes. 

At 4:55 p.m., police received a report of larceny on Central Street, where one red and one blue ATV were reportedly stolen from a back yard. A resident told police that a neighbor saw a red pickup truck leave the area and provided police with the plate numbers. The matter is under investigation. 

At 5:58 p.m., police received a report of soliciting in the area of Fruit Street, where  one person reported a male in his 20s, wearing a sky cap and blue jeans, had been soliciting without a permit. 

At 9:05 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious-looking ATV near high-tension lines in the area of Coolidge Road before the vehicle's lights were turned off.
