Police Log: Trespassing at the Quarries, Well Being Check Finds Man on Vacation

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

9:20 p.m.: A caller said three men got out of a dark sedan at Countryside Health Care of Milford, and jumped the fence into where the equipment was stored. An officer responded and spoke with the people parked there. They had no equipment in the vehicle.

9:29 p.m.: Loud banging was reported on West Spruce Street.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

3:47 a.m.: Milford Regional Medical Center staff asked police to stand by while they dealt with a patient they thought might become out of control.

5:46 a.m.: Firefighters said they received a call from a woman who said her sister had been jumped on Pine Street, and that was all the information they received. Police and firefighters responded. The woman refused medical treatment.

8:54 a.m.: A dead squirrel was found in Milford Town Park and reported to the Milford Animal Control officer.

1:44 p.m.: An officer at Shadowbrook Condominiums said he would file a report on trespassing at the quarries.

2:51 p.m.: A tractor-trailer unit hit and pulled down wires on Carroll Street.

3:21 p.m.: A caller at McDonald's on South Main Street reported animal cruelty. She said a dog was in a Toyota Corolla with the windows down just a little. Police contacted the Animal Control officer.

4:20 p.m.: A caller asked for a well-being check on his friend, who he said he hadn't heard from in five weeks. Police responded and tracked down the man, who was on vacation and said he was fine.
