Police Log: Tractor-Trailer Hits Pole, Arrests

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

4:30 p.m.: Police responded to Kohl's, for a report of a woman in custody for shoplifting. Police are seeking a summons to charge Isabelle J. Carrier, 19, of 30 Windsor Dr., Holliston, on a charge of shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.

5:06 p.m.: Several kids on skateboards were reported to be in the area of Main and Fayette streets. The kids were gone when police arrived.

5:18 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main at Fayette streets, police were seeking a summons to charge Rafael Junio Araujo, 23, of 25 Walker Avenue Ext., Apt. 12, Milford, with having an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. The 2010 Dodge Avenger was towed.

6:12 p.m.: Police received a complaint of loud music "going on all day" on North Bow Street. Police spoke to the people.

7:01 p.m.: A detective reported that youths had been removed from a location on Senate Road.

9:19 p.m.: A two-vehicle collision was reported on Purchase Street, near Peter's Market. No one was injured.

Wednesday, Sept. 19

12:46 a.m.: Power loss was reported at Dunkin' Donuts on South Main Street.

1:55 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Pearl Street. A caller said her friend was upset. The caller refused to give the address, then rejected any police services.

7:34 a.m.: A caller reported a tractor-trailer hit a pole on Purchase Street at Ivy Lane. An officer reported the pole was snapped and would need to be replaced. National Grid was notified. The NH-based driver was not injured.

10:53 a.m.: A caller reported suspicious activity at Target. She said a male party was in the parking lot "trying to get into several different vehicles." Police arrived but could not locate the man.

11:50 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Congress Street, near Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, police detectives arrested Matthew E. Rando, 20, of 153 Central St., Milford on charges of possession of a Class A drug, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, subsequent offense, having an uninsured motor vehicle, possession to distribute a Class A drug and a drug violation near a school or park.

2:24 p.m.: An officer reported he spoke to an individual who was on Milford High School property and was not supposed to be there.

2:39 p.m.: A disturbance was reported at CVS on Medway Road. Police spoke to the man as he was leaving the store.

3:22 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to report he was being harassed by someone from Ohio.
