Police Log: Stolen Car is Recovered, Log Thrown Through a Window
The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, Jan. 7
4:38 p.m.: A woman on Fruit Street said a man was walking around her house. Police responded and found he was a man who had spotted the missing dog from Monday. He was waiting for the owner to arrive.
6:04 p.m.: A woman reported she was receiving text messages in violation of an abuse prevention order. Police will be seeking a summons to charge John J. Moosey, 26, of 1 Grove St., Apt. 2, Milford, with violating an abuse prevention order.
6:14 p.m.: A hit-and-run was reported at Target.
6:56 p.m.: Firefighters responded to Woodridge Road, where a caller reported a fire was in the microwave. She was advised to evacuate. The homeowner extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived. The town employees ventilated the house.
7:25 p.m.: Riverside Community Services asked police to conduct a well-being check on a 10-year-old who was out of control. The child was refusing to go back inside the house. The child was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
9:38 p.m.: A Ford Focus was repossessed on Water Street on behalf of Empire Recovery Service.
9:45 p.m.: A man reported he lost his black wallet at BP on Prospect Street.
10:26 p.m.: Worcester Police reported a Volkswagen Jetta that was stolen out of Milford was recovered in that city. The owner was notified.
Wednesday, Jan. 8
2:27 a.m.: A Chevrolet Cruze was repossessed on Beach Street on behalf of American Lenders of Worcester.
2:50 a.m.: A caller on Sunset Drive reported someone threw a log through her downstairs window. Police responded.
3:15 to 4:21 a.m.: Police issued three tickets to cars violating the winter parking ban. The police were on High and Exchange streets.
6:47 a.m.: Police received a report that a 25-year-old man was out of control. Police arrested Alexander Stewart, 25, of 112 Prospect Heights, Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
8:05 a.m.: Police received a report of a theft at Milford High School.
8:24 a.m.: A Ford Mustang was repossessed on Jionzo Road.
11:36 a.m.: An employee at Computer Recycling USA on Fortune Boulevard said a man was on the property who would not leave. Police spoke to him.
