Police Log: Stolen Car, Baby Choking, Mail Carrier Bitten by Dog

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

5:00 p.m.: Police received a noise complaint on Sumner at Mechanic streets. The small brown house was reported to be playing the music very loudly. An officer spoke to a mail man, who said it was a car parked playing loud music.

7:15 p.m.: Police received a second complaint about noise on Sumner Street and Mechanic Street. Police responded but no noise was happening at that time.

7:37 p.m.: The caller on Mechanic Street asked police to return for a continued noise disturbance.

Thursday, Aug. 29

3:57 a.m.: A caller reported loud music in the barn behind a house on Mechanic Street. Police spoke to the person.

5:33 a.m.: A caller reported the trucks had started up again at Maine Oxy's building on Sumner Street, and he would like the people responsible spoken to. This has been going on about a year now, he told police.

6:51 a.m.: A resident of Poplar Street said he had found a bunch of pocketbooks at the bottom of his driveway. Police responded and returned makeup cases to a resident down the street.

7:21 a.m.: A caller on Medway Road reported a metal plate from the construction on I-495 had come down off the highway and on to the side of Medway Road. Milford's Highway Department was notified.

8:17 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on South Main and Grove streets, police were seeking a summons to charge Deana Pereira, 25, of 9.5 Forest St., Milford, with failure to use care when starting, stopping and backing, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

9:12 a.m.: A motor vehicle stolen from Chestnut Street was recovered on Forest Street. The husband of the woman who owned the car said he had found it in front of that address. Police responded to investigate.

10:17 a.m.: A Realtor said a "moving company" had shown up on State Street, where he has a house for sale, to move furniture. The owner of the house said there should be no moving company at the house. The Realtor who called said it was a pickup with a trailer attached.

11:35 a.m.: A 15-month-old baby on East Walnut Street was choking on food. The food had since become dislodged but the baby was vomiting. Firefighters responded.

2:34 p.m.: A caller on Larson Road said someone was painting his house and it was making the whole neighborhood smell.

4:05 p.m.: A caller on Lincoln Street asked police to respond about children yelling loudly and screaming while playing.

5:22 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to talk to someone about cyber-bullying.

8:35 p.m.: A woman asked police to respond to her home because she thought her 26-year-old son was on drugs. 

Friday, Aug. 30

12:04 a.m.: A caller on West Spruce Street asked police to respond because two or three people had driven by, swearing at her house.

2:14 a.m.: Genesis Healthcare Milford Center asked police to respond because a woman who is not allowed in the building has shown up and was causing a scene.

7:55 a.m.: Firefighters responded to West Maple Street, where a 13-month-old had Lysol toilet bowl cleaner in his mouth, and his caretaker wasn't sure if he had swallowed any. The baby was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

11:28 a.m.: A woman reported she had received a call from her daughter, who said the dog, a lab, had bitten the mail man on Elm Street. Police left a message with an animal control officer.
