Police Log: Shoplifting Arrests, Brush Fires, Calls at 1 a.m. for 'Christine'

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Nov. 3

12:01 a.m.: An employee called police from CVS on South Main Street and said she was having problems with a customer. 
12:32 a.m.: An officer was speaking to two people following a reported disturbance on Main at Central streets.

1:02 a.m.: A caller reported getting multiple phone calls at her home from a particular man, looking for 'Christine,' and he seemed to be getting very agitated. Police in Hopedale were asked to contact the man.

1:08 a.m.: Police responded to Depot Street for a motor vehicle stop. Police arrested Kiara Lopez, 22, of 655 Boston Post RD, Apt. 1206, Sudbury, on a warrant.

1:21 a.m.: Police responded to Eben Street, where a woman asked for help in dealing with a man who was fighting with her.

1:26 a.m.: A man said he was supposed to get a ride back to Framingham but his ride never showed up, and he's not from the area, and is now lost. Police picked him up on Congress at Jionzo Road and gave him a ride to 7-Eleven.

1:35 a.m.: Police responded to Asylum Street, where a woman was screaming for help and yelling out "Matt, where are you?" When police arrived, the car was leaving. The woman was screaming on the phone, and said she was heading home.

2:06 a.m.: A woman reported her brother was beating her boyfriend. Police responded and arrested Tasha Lynn Moran, 27, of 318 Main St., Apt. 2, Milford, on two warrants.

10:10 a.m.: Firefighters responded to the Vietnam Trails area off Cedar Street for hot spots flaring up from a previous brush fire.

11:55 a.m.: Police responded to Planet Fitness, for a report of a suspicious motor vehicle. A caller said a man in a sedan had a small child on his lap. Police said he was going through trash. He was advised of the town's bylaw preventing this.

12:28 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters with a wallet he found that had $58 in cash inside. Police contacted the woman who owned it and left a message with her mother.

5:16 p.m.: Police received a call from Kmart, who reported they had three shoplifters. Two were inside with the manager. A third was trying to get into a white Nissan. She was dumping merchandise in the parking lot and said she didn't take anything. Police responded and contacted Kohl's, because several items had their security tags. Kohl's reported they had had two women in the store earlier who were unruly. The supervisor was en route to Kmart to identify the items. Police arrested Meagan A. Santiago, 28, of 20 Dana Park LN, Hopedale, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, second offense. Police arrested Kayla Morgado, 19, of 53 Grove St., Milford, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Police arrested Brandon J. Bartkus, 36, of 36 Brook St., Whitinsville, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

5:44 p.m.: Firefighters responded to the area behind the Milford Water Company on Dilla Street after a truck driver said he could see smoke. A firefighter located the fire about 100 yards into the woods, on the trail that leads to Eben Street. The fire was about 1 to 2 acres in size.

6:02 p.m.: A caller reported he was locked in a room in a parking garage in Foxboro and was very disoriented. An officer found the man on Village Circle and said he was fine, and that once the lights were turned on he knew who he was and where he was.

Monday, Nov. 4

10:09 a.m.: Milford Highway reported that they'd received a call from a resident complaining that someone had raked leaves into the street. Police checked, on Stoneybrook Lane, but found no problems.
