Police Log: Screaming Woman on the Hood of a Moving Car

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 13

7:02 p.m.: A caller at Milford Regional Medical Center reported that a patient was being uncooperative in the ER registration area.

7:23 p.m.: A caller reported a woman was on the front of the hood of a moving car on Madden Avenue, screaming as it was being driven down the road. Police could not locate the vehicle.

8:50 p.m.: A caller complained about noise and loud music on Capitol Road.

10:56 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to report a possible fight between Congress Street and Exchange Street. Police didn't find anything.

11:57 p.m.: An intoxicated woman was creating a problem on Larson Road.

Saturday, Sept. 14

1:42 a.m.: A caller on Birmingham Court said a man was stumbling across his front yard and had just rung his door bell. Police responded and requested an ambulance. The man, who was intoxicated, was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

2:16 a.m.: A caller at Dunkin' Donuts on Main Street said a man was down on the ground in front of the store. An officer gave him a ride home.

8:08 a.m.: Police responded to an East Main Street apartment, where people were reported to be yelling and throwing things.

9:57 a.m.: The Capitol Road apartments were being evacuated, after a report of a dryer fire.

12:33 p.m.: Protestors were on the sidewalk at Milford Auto Mall, and one made a comment to a customer, who reported it to the manager. Police responded.

12:34 p.m.: Police are seeking a summons to charge George E. Marotta, 49, of 164 Congress St., Milford, with violating an order to surrender a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of a large capacity firearm.

2:08 p.m.: A Toyota Corolla struck a pole on Central Street, snapping it.  National Grid was responding. The driver was not injured.

2:09 p.m.: A caller on Dominick Street said people were going through the rubble of the home that burned.

3:38 p.m.: A woman said a dark minivan almost hit them in the Kmart parking lot. It was now in front of the World Gym.

3:56 p.m.: A man told police he had argued with a woman and he was trying to leave, and she wouldn't let him.

4:40 p.m.: A caller on Sanclemente Circle said her neighbor was taking photos of her yard. It is an ongoing dispute.

5:12 p.m.: A caller said vehicles were parking outside Milford High School, blocking the sidewalk and pedestrians were having to walk in the road, creating a hazard.

6:14 p.m.: A caller said two people were arguing outside, just before the Groves, on Redwood Drive. Police found a group of youths playing soccer.

7:20 p.m.: A woman reported a man was trying to get into her house on Prospect Street. He was trying to come through the window and the door. Police filed a report.

8:08 p.m.: A woman on Highland Street said she'd been dealing with 10 hours of constant noise from a party on the street. Police checked and found the noise volume OK.

8:13 p.m.: An employee of Target told police that a woman had called the store to report her child had ingested "Orbies" which are a small round part of a foot massager that expands, and the box states they are toxic. The caller was hysterical, the employee said. The manager who took the call advised her repeatedly to call 911, or seek medical attention. She wasn't able to get any identifying information from the caller, who ended the call.

9:41 p.m.: A caller reported a possibly intoxicated man walking near Tedeschi.

11:13 p.m.: A caller reported a person was passed out on the side of the road, on Meade Street. The person was taken to the hospital.

Sunday, Sept. 15

12:19 a.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters to complain of loud music at a barbecue on Green Street.

1:35 a.m: A woman on Winter Street told police that an unwanted person was at her house, possibly intoxicated. Police gave the person a ride home.

2:10 a.m.: A caller on Westbrook Street said a loud party was taking place. Polcie found two young adults playing video games, and asked them to keep it down.

7:10 a.m.: A caller reported a man was sleeping in a car on Harris Avenue. Police responded and could not revive him. Police are seeking a summons to charge Marcus A. Divittorio, 19, of 44 Bellingham RD., Blackstone, with carrying a dangerous weapon, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and possession of a Class D substance. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

8:55 a.m.: A mailbox was reported to be damaged on Silver Hill Road.

10:06 a.m.: A mailbox was missing on Redwood Drive.

5:35 p.m.: A woman and two men were drinking alcohol on the bench near Vatolato Field. 

6:40 p.m.: A caller reported a man was heavily intoxicated at the corner of Mystic Lane and Water Street. He was unable to walk. Police responded and reported back that everything was OK.
