Police Log: Rooster in a Basement Causing Disturbance, Child Bitten by Dog

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 23

6:39 p.m.: A woman in the lobby reported she went to pick up her kids from her ex-husband and there was shoving, pushing, yelling and screaming. She said he also attempted to pull the kids from her vehicle. Police reached out to the on-call judge, who issued a restraining order at 7:36 p.m.

6:47 p.m.: Medfield Police reported a stolen cell phone out of that town had been tracked to Bow Street in Milford. A person working for a maid service may have been involved. Police could not locate the phone.

6:58 p.m.: A caller reported a man was going door-to-door on Janock Road, trying to sell cleaning supplies.

7:09 p.m.: A woman on Shadowbrook Lane reported that Home Depot had ruined her carpets. She was advised she needs to contact Home Depot directly to report the complaint.

8:07 p.m.: A caller reported a 4-year-old boy had been bitten by a dog on Capitol Road. The dog had been loose in the hallway. The Animal Control officer responded.

9:53 p.m.: Police in Framingham asked police to respond to Mill Pond Circle, to find a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run in that town. Police did so and reported the person did live in a basement there, but was not home. They said they would follow up.

Saturday, Aug. 24

12:56 a.m.: A caller on Purdue Drive said a loud gathering in the area was creating noise.

1:22 a.m.: A front desk employee at Comfort Inn said two women in a room had had an argument, and the one with the credit card on file had left and asked that the room be cancelled. The other woman was still in the room, refusing to leave.

1:50 a.m.: A woman said she heard a noise in her basement on Pearl Street, possibly something being knocked over. Police checked and everything was OK.

7:34 a.m.: A caller on Purchase Street said his unsecured work truck had been rifled through overnight, and all of his stuff had been stolen.

8:21 a.m.: A woman reported a woman in a house on Plain Street was screaming for help.

10:57 a.m.: A caller in the woods off the Vietnam Trails in Milford said a tree stump in the area was smoldering. Firefighters were notified.

2:13 p.m.: A man in the police department lobby said the mother of his children refused to drop them off at a designated location.

3:48 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Dilla Street. Police were seeking a summons to charge Tiszai L. Vautier, 24, of 89 Bethany RD., Apt. 306, Framingham, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

4:01 p.m.: Mendon's fire tower reported a second brush fire near the Hopkinton line, off Cedar Street. Hopkinton and Hopedale fire departments also responded.

7:14 p.m.: A small brush fire was reported off Haven Street.

7:15 p.m.: An officer removed youths from the roof of the lower building at St. Mary's Parish Center on Winter Street.

7:45 p.m.: A disturbance was reported on Bancroft Avenue. A caller said a man was yelling in the area.

7:54 p.m.: Police responded to a disturbance on Oliver Street. A caller said a rooster in the basement was causing a disturbance. An officer said he had spoken to the caller and "the rooster has left for the night."

8:29 p.m.: A caller on Jencks Road said a house near them was supposed to be empty, but they could see people in the house. Police checked and everything was OK.

8:35 p.m.: A caller said someone above her was making a lot of noise and someone was jumping around. Police responded to the address on Water Street and found a 5- and a 10-year-old playing.

8:38 p.m.: A caller reported a 13-year-old had possibly injured his knee, at Milford High School. The boy was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center.

9:45 p.m.: A caller on Reagan Road said about 20 kids were walking in the street, making a lot of noise. Hopedale Police responded to that call.

10:17 p.m.: A caller reported loud music on Gibbon Avenue.

11:27 p.m.: A woman reported her soon-to-be-ex husband had sat in her driveway in his vehicle. Police responded to his address to speak to him.

11:28 p.m.: Loud music was reported on Purdue Drive.

11:54 p.m.: A caller on Harvard Drive said a black sports car had hit her neighbor's mailbox then took off toward Dartmouth.

Sunday, Aug. 25

12:07 a.m.: State Police on East Main Street reported an intoxicated man was out of control. The man had a laceration on his wrist and was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.
