Police Log: RMV Test Drive Leads to a Threatening Complaint

Thursday, Aug. 16

3:56 p.m.: Police responded to Whitney Street, where a caller said that while conducting a road test, "he was threatened by a female for parking in front of her home." The woman, he told police, approached vehicle "and said she is sick of them conducting tests on her road and if she sees them again she will come after them with a gun." Police are seeking a summons to charge Karen L. Nordelo, 62, of 25 Whitney St., Milford, with threatening to commit a crime.

5:05 p.m.: A police officer gave verbal warnings to three moped drivers on Camp Street who were driving over the speed limit of 25 mph.

5:12 p.m.: A caller on Winter Street reported her car was hit and the other driver took off.

6:01 p.m.: Police responded to , where staff reported a shoplifter in custody. Police arrested Laura Gailor, 25, of 19 Godfrey Ln., Milford, on a charge of shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.

6:29 p.m.: A two-car collision was reported on East Main Street, near . One person was taken to

8:23 p.m.: Police responded to High Street after a woman reported a man in a white truck was following her. She ran to a neighbor's house to call police. Police spoke to the driver who was in the vehicle, but no arrest was reported.

8:36 p.m.: A caller at the Groves of Milford apartments reported six to eight kids were "jumping on parked cars." Two officers spoke to youths in the area.

8:49 p.m.: A woman reported her niece had been called by someone who she has a restraining order against.

10:10 p.m.: A caller from Mt. Pleasant Street reported a prowler on his property. Police checked the property and surrounding woods and found no one.

11:17 p.m.: A caller reported a silver convertible with five or six youths inside was "driving erratically with the lights off" near the on Prospect Street. Police caught up with youths and the vehicle in the parking lot, then determined it wasn't the same group. The officer told them "they could not be hanging out at this location."

Friday, Aug. 17

2:31 a.m.: A motorist reported a woman was sitting in the road in front of . Police requested an ambulance. The woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

7:44 a.m.: A woman called police after a verbal argument with her husband was "getting out of control." Police checked and all was OK.

8:51 a.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and reported she was being harassed.

12:33 p.m.: Police arrested Alexander D. Torosian, 21, of 28 Howard St., Milford, on a warrant.

12:42 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said she wanted to report abuse from her children.

12:50 p.m.: A caller on Pheasant Circle reported a "public nuisance" at the location.

1:53 p.m.: A tractor-trailer driver reported brake failure on South Main Street, near . No crash occurred, but the trailer was in a ditch. Police and firefighters responded. The firefighters stood by to make sure the fuel tank was intact when the truck was pulled out by a tow truck.
