Police Log: Police Follow Fluid Trail after Hit-and-Run

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Feb. 20

5:36 p.m.: Police responded to a crash on Casey Drive. A caller reported a white van drove off the road and was at that time trying to dislodge from the caller's front lawn. An officer arrived and asked for a tow truck. Police are seeking a summons to charge Maria Cazho, 22, of 38 Franklin St., Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to drive in the right lane. Police are seeking a summons to charge Jose Chuma Quizhpi, 22, of 38 Franklin St., Milford, with allowing improper operation of a motor vehicle.

6:18 p.m.: Police responded to Old Time Barber Shop, where a woman had thrown a toy into the front window of the shop. Police were not able to locate the woman.

7:03 p.m.: A caller told police a grey sedan cut him off near Shaw's and fled the area heading toward Dairy Queen. The vehicle should have driver's side damage, he reported. Another caller reported an older model tan sedan went by them at a high rate of speed with sparks shooting off the rim. Hopedale Police were contacted, as the vehicle was last seen heading down Freedom Street into Hopedale. A Milford officer followed the fluid trail of the suspect vehicle from Freedom Street to Jones Road. Police are seeking a summons to charge Matthew J. Braley, 29, of 99 Jones Rd., Hopedale, with leaving the scene of property damage and failure to yield at an intersection.

7:40 p.m.: A dead raccoon, or a cat, was reported in the area of Milford High School. A message was left for the animal control officer.

9:11 p.m.: A police detective arrested Carlos Roberto Anastacio, 41, of 36 Water St., Apt. 3, Milford, on a warrant.

Thursday, Feb. 21

1:17 a.m.: A father reported his 15-year-old daughter was out with a 19-year-old man, and he didn't want him in his house. Police responded but the man left before they arrived.

4:35 a.m.: A caller reported suspicious behavior. Two men in a white box truck were at a Dumpster at Blackstone Valley Dialysis, possibly throwing items away. The truck then left toward Milford Regional Medical Center. Police could not locate the vehicle.

8:28 a.m.: A police officer reported a tractor trailer was stuck on a snow bank at Shadowbrook Lane, and was in danger of tipping over. Art's Towing was dispatched, along with a sergeant. 

10:52 a.m.: Police are seeking a summons to charge Michael O'Niell, 21, of 11 Court St., Milford, with vandalism, after receiving a complaint involving a broken mirror on a car.
