Police Log: Picking Apples from a Neighbor's Tree, at 2 AM

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 6

6:41 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and reported that two people were rollerblading up and down Congress Street, while pushing a baby stroller. She thought this endangered the child and asked police to check. The rollerbladers were gone when police arrived.

7:21 p.m.: A caller reported kids were riding a mini-bike up and down the street, on Hayward Street.

Saturday, Sept. 7

12:17 a.m.: A caller reported some people were creating a disturbance at Turtle Tavern. The people were out front, two men, the caller said. Police responded.

12:35 a.m.: A caller reported that tenants above her on Central Street were being very loud.

12:57 a.m.: A caller said three to five people were outside on Congress Street, causing a ruckus and being very loud. Police spoke to them.

6:42 a.m.: Police investigated a report of a gun shot on Maple Street. Police could not locate the source of the noise.

10:29 a.m.: A caller reported protestors were outside Milford Auto Mall on West Street.

11:38 a.m.: An employee at Hannaford Market reported a Toyota Avalon was in the parking lot with two small children inside, alone. A page was put out to the store, but no one responded, so police were called. 

3:40 p.m.: A caller reported a woman on East Main Street was throwing items in his apartment, all day, and needed to be removed.

5:36 p.m.: Police responded to Hannaford's market, where an 11-year-old boy was caught shoplifting.

6:13 p.m.: A caller said about seven to eight men were in the fenced field behind the Portuguese Club, and he asked that they be removed.

7:23 p.m.: A caller reported a skunk had been attacked by another animal on Short Street, and the skunk was still alive. Police responded and found the skunk deceased. A message was left for the Milford Animal Control officer.

8:03 p.m.: A caller said his girlfriend had been drinking all day, and she just left on foot. She had indicated earlier that she wanted  to harm herself. Police responded and found the woman was home, safe.

9:24 p.m.: Police responded to the address of the couple above, and found them both highly intoxicated and having an argument. The argument was over him not giving her sleep medication.

9:46 p.m.: A caller reported a disturbance on Water Street. An officer found it was a few kids playing at a birthday party.

Sunday, Sept. 8

12:34 a.m.: An officer was moving a crowd along on Forest at Chestnut streets.

2:01 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Spring Street. An officer spoke to three men, advising them to stay out of a homeowner's yard as they were trying to remove an apple from a tree.

2:07 a.m.: Two women were in the lobby at McDonald's on Medway Road, arguing with a manager. Police responded but the women were gone.

2:28 a.m.: Police responded to Main Street, near Johnny Jacks, where a man was reported to be urinating in the street. Police arrested Joel Herrera, 32, of 766 Bedford St., Abington, on a charge of indecent exposure.

3:27 a.m.: A caller said he could hear a lot of yelling in the parking lot of the Prospect Heights Park.

3:59 a.m.: A caller said a woman and her daughter were fighting on Main Street.

11:26 a.m.: A caller reported two dirt bikes were in the area of Depot Street, possibly heading into the woods across the street from Crivello's Crossing.

12:21 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported a trailer had been stolen off the Lowe's Home Improvement lot.

12:43 p.m.: A caller said he saw a man hit a woman while they were sitting in a car at Kohl's. Police responded but the car was gone.

12:46 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a small brush fire in the grass near TGI Friday's.

12:57 p.m.: A caller reported a disturbance on Westley Court. A man was throwing things around a house.

1:04 p.m.: A driver on Cedar Street said a man in a Cadillac deVille threw a lot of trash outside the window while driving.
