Police Log: Picketers Bad for Business, Small Fires

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Editor's Note: the following police log was updated on July 25 to include additional information about a summons for criminal harassment, and to add the name of a co-defendant.

Tuesday, July 10

4:09 p.m.: Police arrested Troy D. Hatfield, 47, of 49 Pearl St., Apt. 3, Milford, on a warrant.

4:29 p.m.: A caller on Colonial Road reported an ongoing issue with vehicles speeding down from the apartments, particularly an orange motorcycle.

6:00 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to report the theft of a lawn mower on Court Street. He later said the landlord may have possibly taken the item.

7:09 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report she is being harassed by a neighbor.

8:51 p.m.: A fireworks violation was reported on Fruit Street.

9:21 p.m.: A caller reported a child had been crying at for more than two hours. Police checked and the child was fine.

9:34 p.m.: A therapist asked police to check on the well-being of a patient who said she hadn't eaten in days. Police checked and the woman was fine. The caller was notified.

10:47 p.m.: EMTs responded to a home on Grant Street, where a man had lacerations to his arm from a glass door. He was taken to

Wednesday, July 11

12:28 a.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters to report a tree was on fire at Main and Exchange streets. Firefighters determined it was a small brush fire, and now out.

12:37 a.m.: A caller reported the base of a telephone pole was on fire at Main and Water streets. Police determined it was a trash bag on fire.

12:40 a.m.: Police responded to Milford Regional Medical Center, where the father of a 7-year-old patient was "making threats toward staff." The man said he would stay calm.

1:31 a.m.: A caller reported his ex-girlfriend was at his house, yelling and throwing things.

2:22 a.m.: A construction fence was reported to be on fire at the Pond Street parking lot. The fire was extinguished.

5:21 a.m.: A vehicle on Congress Street was repossessed without incident.

8:10 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Rolling Green Drive. A caller said she could see a female and a male fighting, and the male hit the female. Police arrested Steve Blass, 31, of 1323 Worcester Rd., Framingham, on two warrants.

8:24 am.: A caller reported a woman with a shopping cart was picking through trash on High Street. Police could not locate her.

9:02 a.m.: Police returned to Rolling Green Drive, to the area where the parties were arguing earlier. Police arrested Rebecca Nolan, 21, of 51 Brooks Heights, Clarksburg, MA, on charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and intimidating a witness. Police arrested Alan Stone, 27, of 980 Highland St., Holliston, on charges of a civil rights violation, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, assault and two counts of intimidating a witness.

10:05 a.m.: Police are seeking a summons to charge Joao Brito Dos Santos, of 40 Cochiutuate Rd., Apt. 2, Framingham, on charges of criminal harassment and threatening to commit a crime. Police also are seeking a summons to charge Anna Paula Texeira Santos, 32, of 40 Cochiutuate Rd., Apt. 2, Framingham, with criminal harassment and threatening to commit a crime. They are accused of threatening a Milford man and the man's family.

11:43 a.m.: The manager of on Main Street told police people with signs in front of the store are "affecting business." The management asked them to leave and they refused. Police arrived and dispersed them.

12:21 p.m.: A Pontiac was repossessed on Rolling Green Drive.
