Police Log: Parking Lot Parties, Kids Arguing

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 16

3:12 p.m.: A caller from on Asylum Street reported that the business parking lot "is being used for parties on the weekends." The employee found grills and other party debris in the lot.

5:14 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on South Free Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Bryan Ault, 17, of 26 Hayward St., Milford with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, having an unregistered motor vehicle and having an uninsured motor vehicle.

5:14 p.m.: A property manager for an apartment on Penny Lane asked police to chonduct a well-being check on animals in a first-floor unit. No one had been seen coming or going for the last two days, he reported, and the tenant was recently given an eviction notice. Police checked and no one was home but it appeared the animals were being taken care of.

7:50 p.m.: A disturbance was reported on Water Street. A caller said at a house next to , two men were "yelling and throwing things at each other." Police checked and found a man arguing with someone on a phone, but all was OK.

8:38 p.m.: Police responded to for a complaint that a woman in custody had taken clothing. Police arrested Debra Johnson, 44, of 5 Cormier Cir., Milford, on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense, larcenty over $250, and three warrants.

9:47 p.m.: A single-car crash in which a Buick hit a curb was reported on Main at School streets. The elderly couple was not injured and were outside the vehicle, police reported, but the inside of the vehicle was "smoking." An officer asked that the Main Street contractor, P.A. Landers, be contacted to evaluate any damage.

10:48 p.m.: A loud party was reported on Mark Drive.

Tuesday, July 17

6:27 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on South Main Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Jose M. Guaman, 36, of 23 Water St., Apt. 2, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was driving a Lincoln Aviator.

6:45 a.m.: A caller from Target reported an employee vehicle had been vandalized.

10:48 a.m.: Police are seeking a summons to charge Christina Galstian, 46, of 320 Main St., Apt. 2, Milford, with malicious destruction of property, worth more than $250, malicious destruction of property, worth less than $250 and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

11:34 a.m.: A U.S. Postal Service employee reported finding a wallet in a mailbox. Police left a message on the man's phone to come to the station.

11:44 a.m.: A hit-and-run was reported at No injury was reported.

11:52 a.m.: A hit-and-run was reported on Country Club Lane. No injury was reported.

12:07 p.m.: Police received a 911 hangup call. On call back, a woman told police her 8-year-old daughter had called because she was fighting with her 5-year-old sister. Police responded to check and everything was OK.

12:15 p.m.: A crash with injury was reported on Main Street, near Firefighters responded.

1:56 p.m.: A caller from reported a woman who was either intoxicated or on drugs had walked into the daycare and would not leave the building. A police sergeant asked for rescue personnel. The 47-year-old woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
