Police Log: OUI Arrests, Evicted Tenants Making Mess, Fireworks Complaints

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, July 19

5:08 p.m.: Firefighters extinguished a small mulch fire at La Quinta Inn.

5:53 p.m.: A caller reported her mother on Jefferson Street had a man knocking on her door and she didn't know why. Officers responded and arrested Alan M. Houston, 28, of 7 Kingson Ave., Apt. 4, Medway, on two warrants.

8:36 p.m.: A neighbor on Congress Street said evicted tenants were dumping trash in the yard and on the sidewalk. Police spoke to them, and said they were in the process of moving out and would leave the trash on the deck until trash day.

8:38 p.m.: A caller reported a man was unresponsive, but breathing, at Casa Nova on Central Street. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

10:59 p.m.: A caller said sounds were coming from her back yard. She was not sure if they were human or animal. Police checked and everything was OK.

11: 46 p.m.: A caller reported four kids were in Prospect Heights Park and should not be there. Police spoke to them.

Saturday, July 20

12:08 a.m.: At an OUI checkpoint near Plains Park, on Cedar Street, police pulled over Mark Anthony Romano, 29, of 496 Wood Hill Road, Chesire, CT, who was charged with OUI Liquor.

12:50 a.m.: Several people were reported to be in the pool at Casey Memorial Pool. Police responded but the people were gone.

1:30 a.m.: A caller reported his girlfriend hit him. Police arrested Kendra L. Fontaine, 26, of 92 S. Main St., Apt. A, Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

2:22 a.m.: At the OUI checkpoint on Cedar Street, police arrested Geisson Oliveira, 32, of 173 Alden St., Ashland, on a charge of OUI Liquor.

2:30 a.m.: At the OUI checkpoint on Cedar Street, police arrested Kristina Creonte, 27, of 23 Forest St., Milford, on a charge of OUI Liquor.

2:45 a.m.: At the OUI checkpoint on Cedar Street, police arrested Wittilley Mariano Oliveira, 27, of 12 Woodland St., Apt. 16, Everett, on charges of OUI liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

3:00 a.m.: At the OUI checkpoint on Cedar Street, police arrested Elmir G. Borges, 45, of 320 Grant St., Apt. 1, Framingham, on a warrant.

4:24 a.m.: A caller reported that she was walking to work on Medway Road and a strange man was following her. Several officers responded. They gave her a ride to Panera Bread.

8:48 a.m.: A caller reported a shoplifter was in custody at Shaw's Supermarket. Police are seeking a summons to charge Noemi Core, 52, of 35 Meade St., Milford, on a charge of shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.

1:03 p.m.: Firefighters responded to Petco for a report of mulch smoldering in front of the building.

1:52 p.m.: A man asked to speak to police about an officer about an iPhone that was taken from his vehicle, parked on the Dilla Street lot for Louisa Lake. Police filed a report.

2:59 p.m.: A caller reported she saw a beige and white purse in the middle of North Bow Street. She turned around and tried to pick it up, but a man in his 50s, with no shirt and shorts, left with it in his hands. He was heading toward Central Street.

3:18 p.m.: A caller at Milford Regional Medical Center said an unruly patient was in the emergency room, pacing around the room and giving the nurses a hard time. Police spoke to him.

3:22 p.m.: A man said his father has dementia and went for a walk, and had not returned. The caller was driving around, looking for him. The caller called back to report he had found his father.

5:14 p.m.: Hopedale Police reported a loud music party on Daniels Street.

6:43 p.m.: A caller reported her father had lost his money clip at Stop & Shop. It is engraved with a particular message.

6:44 p.m.: A man on Water Street said his neighbors are blasting speakers toward his house. Police responded and said the music was not unreasonable.

6:44 p.m.: A caller said a woman approached her car saying she has been held hostage. The caller was in a black Prius.

7:16 p.m.: Police responded to Prospect Heights, where a boy was shooting a pellet gun. Police spoke to him.

7:34 p.m.: A caller reported a long line at the EZ Way Car Wash, and no one was answering. Police spoke to the car washer and said everything was OK at that time.

8:28 p.m.: A caller on Water Street reported he could hear very loud music, and now fireworks. Police reported that the music was not excessive, and the Portuguese Picnic was going on.

8:35 p.m.: An officer pulled over a car on Pond Street. Police are seeking a summons to charge Angel Sumba Pomaquiza, 35, of 17 Pond St., Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

8:45 p.m.: A caller reported loud explosions in the area of Oliver Street. Police said it was fireworks possibly coming from the Portuguese Picnic.

9:02 p.m.: A firefighter reported kids were lighting fireworks and throwing them in the road on West at High Streets. Police and State Police responded. A second call came in reporting fireworks in that area.

9:16 p.m.: A caller said a group of youths had kicked her trash buckets in her driveway, and now she can't find them. An officer found the woman, on Lawrence Street, was intoxicated and advised her to move the barrels closer to her home.

9:40 p.m.: Bellingham Police reported a crash on I-495 between Exits 18 and 19. At least one person was taken to the hospital.

9:41 p.m.: An officer reported fireworks were being thrown on Lawrence Street, and advised the people to stop shooting off fireworks.
