Police Log: One Summonsed on Charges of Stolen Checks, Phone Stolen at KFC

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, March 10

At 10:48 a.m., Milford Police received a report of vandalism to a vehicle, a window of which had been smashed, in the area of Green Street. 

At 12:35, police received a report of a suspicious-looking man in the area of Genoa Avenue walking around in the neighborhood. The man was described as a white man in his 20s with a height of 5-feet, 10-inches and wearing tan pants and a brown jacket.

At 5 p.m., police responded to Congress Street on a report of a stolen check and issued a summons to Jose Gonvalves, 35, of Milford on charges of larceny of more than $250, forgery of check and uttering of a false check. 

At 5:10 p.m., police received a report of a dog being struck in the roadway of Depot Street. The dog's owner responded to the scene and retrieved the animal.

At 6:45 p.m., police received a report from an individual who claimed his phone had been stolen at Kentucky Fried Chicken on Medway Road. 

At 9:36 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious-looking white car and black car with Rhode Island plates in the area of TJ Maxx on East Main Street. The vehicles were reportedly known to have parties that frequently "do fraudulent returns", according to police records. Officers responded but were unable to locate the vehicles.
