Police Log: Noise Complaints, Neighbor Dispute, Kids Shooting Pellet Guns

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 20

6:18 p.m.: Police responded to Kohl's, for a report of a shoplifter. Police arrested Meagan Cochrane, 21, of 735 Northwest Main St., Douglas, on a warrant.

7:02 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to speak to an officer about stolen property.

7:16 p.m.: A caller reported a man and  a woman were yelling at each other inside the Milford School of Dance.

8:31 p.m.: A woman told police her husband went to work at 9 a.m. Friday and had not been home since.

8:47 p.m.: A man on Sanclemente Circle said he had heard a knock on his door, and when he went to answer it, the person drove away. He said it was an ongoing issue.

8:53 p.m.: A woman reported she was walking home from church on Purchase Street and was followed by a man with white hair and glasses in an old grey vehicle. She walked into Peter's Market for safety. Police gave her a ride home.

9:59 p.m.: A caller on Country Club Lane said she could hear a person yelling, and the woman appeared to be in distress. The sound might be coming from Asylum Street, or Route 140. Police checked the area but could find nothing.

10:36 p.m.: A caller on Luby Avenue reported neighbors were yelling. She was concerned because there are kids in the house. Police checked and everything was OK.

10:58 p.m.: A caller reported her husband was acting strangely and was unlike himself. Police responded and found he seemed okay.

11:07 p.m.: Police requested an ambulance to the address above, after determining the man may have ingested something. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

11:19 p.m.: Police received a hangup 911 call from McDonald's on South Main Street. When called back, the female employee said that two men in a black sedan had been video-recording her.

Saturday, Sept. 21

2:26 a.m.: Police received a noise complaint about a duplex on Taylor Street.

6:50 a.m.: A caller reported hearing gun shots from deep in the woods near I-495, and said it had been happening a lot lately.

10:34 a.m.: A caller reported his wife and kids were just involved in a verbal dispute with the neighbors.

5:27 p.m.: A caller reported that a group of young kids was shooting air guns by the woods near Shadowbrook. She asked to speak to an officer. An officer spoke to the caller and the parent of the children.

Sunday, Sept. 22

12:22 a.m.: A caller on Central Street reported a vehicle hit a telephone pole and then took off. The pole snapped at the bottom, police found. Police contacted National Grid.

12:24 a.m.: A caller reported her friend's ex had threatened to kill her. Police responded and checked the text messages, and found no threats.

2:49 a.m.: A woman told police she needed assistance as her boyfriend had arrived home highly intoxicated.

3:22 a.m.: A caller on Greenleaf Terrace said a neighbor was knocking on her door, calling for her dog.

6:48 a.m.: A woman on Greenleaf Terrace reported a man was knocking on her front door.

8:32 a.m.: Police received a report that three men were fighting out in front of a house on Hayward Street. One took off in a sedan. The other two then started walking down the street.

12:22 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, police arrested Franklin Javier, 32, of 61 Arlington St., Apt. 3, Lawrence, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop or yield, license not in possession and a warrant.

4:10 p.m.: An officer ticketed a driver on Sumner Street for going 50 mph.

4:16 p.m.: Police responded to Louisa Lake, where an 11-year-old had a wrist injury. The child was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.
