Police Log: Motor Vehicle Crashes, Domestic Assault Arrest

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 27

5:50 p.m.: Firefighters and police responded to a crash involving a Chevy Impala, which struck a pole on West Street near Milford Pediatrics. The Verizon wire was damaged on the pole. No injury to the driver was reported. Milford Highway Department responded to the area for sanding.

7:52 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported he was assaulted by his girlfriend. Police arrested Wagda Derdeira Poveda, 29, of 7 Wildwood Dr., Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery..

Friday, Dec. 28

2:53 a.m.: A caller reported his son came home with a bunch of his friends and he didn't want them in his home. He also said his son attacked him. Police spoke with both parties. The son agreed to leave for the night. No one wanted a restraining order.

5:34 a.m.: Wires were reported down on Woodland Avenue.

9:31 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main at Jefferson streets, police arrested Aline Flores, 31, of 3 Farese Rd., Apt. 3, Milford, on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation. 

9:57 a.m.: A man asked to speak to an officer about making a pickup of personal belongings.

12:56 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report a suspicious text message.

1:10 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Quarry Drive, across from the access road to Target. An officer requested an ambulance because one of the cars had an infant. The child was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

1:40 p.m.: A two-car crash involving a motorcyle was reported on Birch Street at Medway Road. Injuries were reported.

2:24 p.m.: An officer checked on the well-being of a woman at Shadowbrook condominiums.

2:50 p.m.: A caller at ALDI Food Market reported an employee had been caught stealing from the store.

3:08 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported at East Main and Medway roads. No one was injured.
