Police Log: Milford Woman Summonsed on Charges of Shoplifting at Hannaford

Monday, June 23

At 12:01 a.m., Milford police received a noise complaint from the area of Thayer Street, where a large party was reported. Police received a second call regarding the party and responded; the party was subsequently dispersed. 

At 6:39 a.m., police received a report of a loud sound in the area of Littlefield Road, where a transformer may have blown out. Milford fire crews responded and reported that a squirrel struck an open fuse on a pole along the roadway. National Grid was notified.

At 9 a.m., Milford Animal Control was notified of a dog bite to the face. 

At 10:06 a.m., police responded to the area of Congress Street to investigate a report of a camp behind the water tower.

At 11:08 a.m., police received a report of a skunk in the roadway. Animal control was notified. 

At 1:31 p.m., a caller reported to police that a single car accident occurred in the area of Purchase Street involving a potential injury. Milford police and fire crews responded. 

At 4:19 p.m., police responded to Hannaford on Medway Road, where loss prevention reported they had a female shoplifter in custody. The suspect reportedly had concealed detergent, pasta and other items from the store. Police issued a summons to Candy Blais, 46, of Milford, for shoplifting by concealing merchandise. 

At 5:51 p.m., police received a report that a man and a woman were soliciting in the area of Highland Street but were unable to provide identification. 

At 8:19 p.m., police received a report that a gate was seen open at the Fino Field Pool. The Milford Parks Department was notified.
