Police Log: Man Waking the Neighbors, Intoxicated Man Causing Scene

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, July 30

4:49 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main at Pearl streets, police were seeking a summons to charge Juan G. Davila, 29, of 7 Alfred RD., Milford, with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

5:26 p.m.: A woman reported she was being harassed by a former coworker. She asked police about filing a restraining order.

5:30 p.m.: Loud music was coming from an apartment on Grant Street. The caller called back, to report the music had been turned off.

5:38 p.m.: Two men were asking people for money at the Mobil on Route 109. They were in their mid-40s. Police could not find them.

6:34 p.m.: A man asked police to file a report of fraud, because he said someone had been taking money out of his bank account.

6:35 p.m.: A caller reported a 6-year-old was hit by a car. The narrative did not indicate the child was hurt.

7:03 p.m.: A woman reported a man kept driving by her workplace, and she has a restraining order against him that includes the business. Police arrested Christopher Glenn, 24, of 17 Hammond RD., Hopedale, on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.

8:38 p.m.: A caller said a man was intoxicated on Main Street, and getting in and out of his car and causing a scene. A woman at his address did not feel comfortable having him there. Police were going to take the 36-year-old to a friend's house, but then took him back to the station until the friend could pick him up.

10:06 p.m.: A man was causing a disturbance on Pearl Street.

10:24 p.m.: The front desk employee at Holiday Inn Express said she had received two complaints about a bunch of people hanging around a white van, and asked police to check it out. Police responded, and the people by that time had left.

Wednesday, July 31

12:09 a.m.: Police arrested Joseph S. Telhada, 57, of 51 Pearl St., Apt. A2, Milford, on a warrant.

1:25 a.m.: An officer responded to the MacDonald Plumbing and Heating building, where a man was knocking on the door. He had locked himself out of his apartment and was trying to wake someone up.

7:29 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main at Pearl streets, police arrested Eloy Guaman Mayacela, 25, of 20 Main St., Apt. 1, Milford, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a license and a warrant. The Dodge Caravan was towed.

7:41 a.m.: A caller on Overlea Avenue said a woman was going through his trash. An officer spoke to the woman and told her that she would be charged the next time it happens.

8:27 a.m.: A caller said someone was living in the woods off the Milford Upper Charles Trail, near Votolato Field.

10:10 a.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Main Street near Nathan's Jewelers. A man complained of neck and back pain.

11:01 a.m.: A landscape company reported the theft of equipment from the back of their trailer, parked at Sports Authority's lot.

11:40 a.m.: An officer asked for a BOLO for a man wanted for fraud. He asked also for extra checks of the Littlefield Road area, because he is thought to be taking mail out of mail boxes.

12:03 p.m.: A bike was reported stolen at Friendly's.

3:35 p.m.: A caller said she found an elderly woman who had fallen on Emmons Street, and was bleeding from the head. The woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

7:59 p.m.: A dog was reported to be hit by a car on Courtland Street.

8:14 p.m.: Firefighters responded to the Milford Water Company property, where a small brush fire was discovered near the bike path.

8:55 p.m.: A caller on Metcalf Avenue said his neighbor was being loud with his motorcycle.

9:32 p.m.: Staff at Milford Regional Medical Center asked an officer to speak to a patient in Room 6 who was not being cooperative.

Thursday, Aug. 1

3:58 a.m.: A caller on Medway Road said the paper deliveryman was driving over his lawn and it was an ongoing issue. He said he would give the company one more time to solve the issue, but requested a log entry.

6:39 a.m.: Power was restored to the Dewey Circle neighborhood, and an elderly woman asked for help in shutting off her alarms. Police responded.

10:29 a.m.: A caller told police that she had received a call from another woman, asking for police to check on the well being of a small infant. Profanity had been heard coming from the father toward the baby, telling the infant to keep quiet. Police responded, and spoke to the people involved.

2:04 p.m.: An employee at CVS on South Main Street reported a blue Chevy had parked in the drive through and was possibly intoxicated. She hit the building on the way out, and left in an unknown direction. No damage was found on the building. The driver was gone when police arrived.

2:18 p.m.: A phone was reported stolen out of the courtroom at Milford District Court.

3:37 p.m.: A caller reported an elderly man had fallen and hit his head at the Dramatic and Sportsmen's Club on Depot Street.
