Police Log: Man Throws Sandwich at Wife, Disturbance at Italian-American Vets

Friday, Aug. 30

5:06 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported a hit and run at the Registry of Motor Vehicles. No injury was involved.

5:56 p.m.: Police and firefighters responded to Memorial Elementary School, where a 10-year-old boy was bleeding heavily from a head wound. An officer reported the cut was of a good size, and was attempting to find his parents. The boy was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

9:07 p.m.: Staff at the emergency room at Milford Regional called police because it sounded like someone was being assaulted in the parking lot. They could hear someone yelling. Police responded. It was a child crying about getting a shot.

9:14 p.m.: A heavily intoxicated woman was taken to the hospital from East Main Street.

9:51 p.m.: Firefighters responded to the Maspenock Rod and Gun Club, where a 58-year-old woman had fallen down the stairs. She was taken to the hospital.

10:05 p.m.: A caller reported a disturbance at the Italian American Veterans Club. The caller said people were everywhere in the lot. Five officers responded, and requested assistance from Hopedale Police and State Police. Police seized $2,343, according to the narrative. Police are seeking a summons to charge Eduardo Alves, 19, of 59B Prospect St., Milford, with a town bylaw offense.

11:41 p.m.: A caller said a few groups of youths were walking around Stacy Middle School, and she could hear glass shattering. Police responded and checked and secured the building.

11:46 p.m.: Firefighters at the Spruce Street station said a fight almost was happening outside the Turtle Tavern. Police responded but it appeared everyone had gone their own way.

Saturday, Aug. 31

12:05 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Water Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Walacy Teixeira, 39, of 106 Prospect Heights, Apt. 2, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

7:06 a.m.: A caller on South High Street reported a Chevrolet Equinox was damaged overnight. The front of the car was hit and the bumper was on the ground. The other car took off. It happened sometime after midnight.

9:56 a.m.: A caller on East Main Street reported a woman would not leave.

10:03 a.m.: A caller on Grove Street said he had found several wallets and credit cards in his yard.

1:14 p.m.: A nurse at Milford Regional Medical Center told police a patient had threatened a few of the staff members. He said he "would be back." Police were dispatched to take a report.

5:09 p.m.: Two female employees at Sleepy's told police a man was out of control and refusing to leave. Police arrived and escorted him off the property.

5:28 p.m.: Police and firefighters responded to Mill Pond Circle at Whitewood Road, where a 47-year-old woman had fallen off a bike and suffered a head injury. She was taken to the hospital.

8:05 p.m.: A call came in from an open line, where a man could be heard screaming at a woman, and the dispatcher could hear things being thrown. No information was made available. Five officers responded to the address.

10:26 p.m. to 11:07 p.m.: Noise complaints came in about loud parties or loud neighbors at South Bow Street, Hayward Street and North Bow Street.

11:33 p.m.: A woman reported she was receiving threats by phone.

Sunday, Sept. 1

1:44 a.m.: Following a traffic stop on South Main Street at Cape Road, police arrested Michael Raymond Russell, 27, of 39 Ray Ave., Bellingham, on charges of OUI Liquor and a marked lanes violation.

2:10 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Exchange Street, police arrested Reginaldo Passos, 30, of 17 Green St., Apt. 4, Milford, on charges of OUI Liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

7:40 a.m: A crash was reported north of Exit 20 on I-495 Northbound. State Police reported the car had gone into the woods. Police responded but the car was gone.

8:29 a.m.: A man and a woman were arguing on Hayward Street.

9:01 a.m.: A caller on Forest Street said her house was egged.

9:36 a.m.: A caller on Jefferson Street said it appeared someone had shot arrows into her yard.

12:26 p.m.: A vehicle rolled over on I-495 southbound, just south of Exit 19. The car was in the median. Firefighters reported everyone got out and no one was injured.

3:21 p.m.: A woman was reported to be intoxicated outside an apartment on East Main Street.

6:11 p.m.: Two teenaged boys, about age 15 and 16, were fighting on Chestnut Street.

6:59 p.m.: A caller on Water Street said her neighbors had been yelling all day, but now it sounded like a woman was being beaten. Police responded and found no problem. They were in the backyard of an adjoining house and having a cookout.

8:22 p.m.: A hit-and-run was reported on West Street at Reagan Road, involving three vehicles. Police are seeking a summons to charge Joseph A. Bartolomeo, 24, of 16 Anthony RD., Hopedale, with failure to file an accident report and leaving the scene of property damage.

8:26 p.m.: A woman on Rolling Green Drive said she is being harassed by her downstairs neighbors.

8:37 p.m.: A caller on Hayward Street reported a loud party.

8:53 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and reported that she had been walking her dog on Exchange Street. A man was also walking his dog, but not on a leash, and when she said something to him, he said: "My dog will come after you and your little Paris Hilton dog."

9:01 p.m.: A caller reported that a blue truck had hit his vehicle and was now attempting to leave, on Prospect Heights. The driver appeared to be intoxicated.

9:05 p.m.: A loud party was reported on Canali Drive.

Monday, Sept. 2

12:12 a.m.: A caller at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel said his ex-girlfrield was punching him in the face. Police responded but the woman was gone.

12:30 a.m.: A caller said he could hear noises at Shaw's, possibly carts being tossed around. Police checked and everything was OK.

5:13 a.m.: A man reported two men were in his backyard on Wood Street. He asked police to check it out. Police responded but the men were gone.

6:44 a.m.: A man called police to let them know he was attempting to repossess a lawnmower on South Bow Street.

12:18 p.m.: A woman filed a missing person's report on a 41-year-old man.

1:12 p.m.: A caller on Central Street said someone had stolen the inspection sticker off her car overnight.

2:29 p.m.: A woman from Vermont called police and said she lost her wallet. The last time she had it was at the Burger King. It had a debit card and cash inside.

4:11 p.m.: A firefighter reported a red Nissan Sentra on Hollis Street appeared to have been struck. Glass was all over the road and the car had a large dent. Police filed a hit and run report.

4:18 p.m.: Police received several calls about a two-car collision near West Street Liquors, with injury. Both vehicles were towed. The hydrant at High Street and West Street was struck and damaged. At least one person was taken to the hospital.

4:33 p.m.: A woman reported that cars were running the stop signs at Bancroft Avenue and Church Street. She requested more patrols.

5:13 p.m.: A police officer spoke to two people who were going through people's trash.

5:46 p.m: A caller on Purchase Street said his wife was out of control. She got on the phone and said he threw a sandwich at her. Police responded.

6:32 p.m.: Police responded to Country Club Lane, where a woman said she was having an argument with her husband over the air conditioner. The issue was verbal only, police reported.

6:43 p.m.: A man on Court Street reported a theft.
