Police Log: Man Summonsed for Dumping Dog in Milford

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, April 14

At 7:29 a.m., Milford police received a report of an erratic driver, who a caller claimed was driving over the yellow lines and nearly hitting oncoming traffic before driving through the parking lot at Stop and Shop on East Main Street.

At 9:14 a.m., police received a report that a roofing company had been throwing debris into the road on Main Street. Police responded and spoke to workers on scene, who said that the wind was blowing debris into the road and they would cease working.

At 9:49 a.m., police issued a summons to Matthew Medeiros, 33, of New Bedford for larceny by check. 

At 2:22 p.m., police responded to Kohl's on Medway Road on a report of a shoplifter in custody.

At 2:28 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident in the area of Medway Road and Victor Drive. 

At 6:07 p.m., police received a report of a dark-colored Jeep pulling into an access road and potentially leaving a white dog behind in the area of Cedar Street. Another caller reported that they had picked up the dog and would hold onto it. Marlborough Police confirmed to Milford officer that someone had dumped the dog in Milford; the family was set to retrieve the animal. Police issued a summons to Evangelos Papathansiou of Marlborough for cruelty to animal.
