Police Log: Man Dials 911 Repeatedly, Trying for International Call

Milford police took a man into protective custody early Wednesday, after he repeatedly called the 911 emergency line, trying to place an international call.

Tuesday, May 15

3:21 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported on West Street, near No injury was involved.

4:03 p.m.: A caller on Main Street reported her daughter was discharged from the hospital, but went to her sister's work still wearing the hospital gown. She reported the daughter might be walking around Main Street in the "Johnny."

4:26 p.m.: A two-car crash on Prospect at Water streets was reported. No injury was involved.

6:25 p.m.: Police and firefighters responded to where a man was reported to be in the bathroom for 40 minutes. The man was taken to

8:48 p.m.: A caller told police a driver on South Main Street was "all over the road and almost ran several vehicles off the road." Police contacted Upton Police, as the driver was heading into that town.

Wednesday, May 16

12:24 a.m.: A man on Claudette Drive called 911 in error, saying he was trying to dial a foreign country.

1:03 a.m.: The man called again, repeatedly, on the emergency line, while trying to make an international call. An officer was dispatched to speak to him. Police took the 54-year-old man into protective custody.

9:50 a.m.: Police and firefighters responded to East Main at Cedar streets, for a report of a two-car collision. An ambulance was called for a person who sustained a foot injury.
