Police Log: Man 40 Feet up in Tree, Disturbance at Comfort Inn

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 18

6:05 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported he had been scammed. A person claiming they were with the IRS said if he didn't give them $300, there would be a warrant for his arrest.

9:05 p.m.: An officer was at McDonald's on South Main Street, where the manager had reported a theft. An officer advised a man at the location that he was not welcome on the property any more.

9:50 p.m.: Police responded to a two-car crash on East Main Street, at Valero gas station. One person was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center after experiencing head and chest pain.

10:53 p.m.: An officer was investigating a report of harassment.

10:55 p.m.: A caller said a woman was screaming outside on Bodio Circle and was laying on the sidewalk. Police responded and found it was a teen who was having an argument with her boyfriend. She returned to a friend's house.

11:52 p.m.: Police responded to a home where a man was upset over losing his cell phone. His mother reported he had a mental illness and might have weapons. She did not offer further information to dispatchers. The man was taken to the hospital.

Saturday, Oct. 19

12:26 a.m.: A 14-year-old boy said he came home late and his father had a belt and was yelling at him. Police responded but found this was an argument only.

2:20 a.m.: A caller on Coolidge Road said a man in a heavy coat with a beard was possibly intoxicated and on her back deck. She did not know him. Police responded and determined he was intoxicated and trying to find his way back home. Police gave him a ride home.

9:58 a.m.: A man told police he would be protesting for a few hours in front of Milford Auto Mall.

10:17 a.m.: A woman in a Ford Focus struck the building at St. Mary's Parish Center on Winter Street. She was taken to the hospital.

10:32 a.m.: A man said he found an investigator's badge at the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street. Stoughton Police were contacted and would send someone to pick it up.

11:05 a.m.: A caller said he found an old firearm while cleaning out his mother's house. He asked police to take it.

11:55 a.m.: A caller on Forest Street said cars were speeding down the street. She asked for additional patrols.

12:33 p.m.: A resident of Franklin Street reported stolen tools.

1:29 p.m.: A resident of Fisk Mille Road asked to speak to an officer about a noise complaint from a neighbor.

3:25 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported about eight youths were skateboarding at Draper Memorial Park.

3:35 p.m.: A couple at the police headquarters said someone had taken their flash drive at the Milford Town Library. They said there were important documents on the device.

5:26 p.m.: Kmart reported a shoplifter was in custody. Police are seeking a summons to charge Efrain Olmo, 19, of 4 Purchase St., Milford, with shoplifting by asportation.

5:37 p.m.: A caller on Jefferson Street reported his bike had been stolen off his porch.

8:28 p.m.: A caller said he saw a man and a woman fighting and the man had then pulled the woman into the house. Police responded but the woman had left. Police were attempting to locate her.

10:57 p.m.: A caller on Salvia Road reported a loud party.

11:24 p.m.: A manager at Doubletree by Hilton hotel reported a guest's license plate had been vandalized with spray paint.

11:36 p.m.: A caller on Colonial Road said five people were outside drinking something in the parking lot. Police checked and everything was OK.

Sunday, Oct. 20

12:21 a.m.: A caller on Capitol Road said men were outside talking and yelling and causing a disturbance.

12:23 a.m.: A caller on Central Street said three young men had pushed open the door to a vacant house across the street from Central Tavern, then had left in a smaller silver SUV.

8:44 a.m.: A woman turned in a wallet she found at an apartment complex on Alfred Road.

9:11 a.m.: A caller on Purchase Street said she had found a plastic baggie with needles and vials of a fluid on her front lawn. Police removed the item.

9:16 a.m.: A man said he had lost his wedding band, possibly at Milford Town Park. It was gold with ridges on the sides.

12:57 p.m.: A woman said she was renting a room from a friend and a man at the residence was harassing her.

2:02 p.m.: Police responded to the Comfort Inn, where a female guest who had been staying at the hotel for the past month was causing disturbances. She was flashing some of the customers and stealing the hotel food. The hotel employee asked police to remove her. She was taken to an emergency shelter on Cedar Street.

2:47 p.m.: A caller reported his television had been removed from his basement. He said he thought his grandson had done this.

3:03 p.m.: An elderly woman reported the power was out. Police said National Grid was aware and working on the issue. The caller said an alarm of some sort was coming from her basement. An officer was dispatched to assist her.

3:30 p.m.: An elderly woman called to complain that her neighbor was cutting shrubs on her property.

4:48 p.m.: Police pulled over a vehicle on Highland Street. Police arrested Angel G. Alulema-Zhagnay, 28, of 17 Pond St., Milford, on charges of speeding in violation of a special regulation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

5:19 p.m.: An officer removed a group of youths from Memorial Hall.

6:03 p.m.: Staff at TGI Friday's asked police to respond. A woman was sitting at the bar and had been causing a disturbance with other customers. She was asked to leave and she refused. Employees said earlier that day the woman had attempted to steal a wallet from another customer. The woman was gone when officers arrived.

10:37 p.m.: Police responded to Milford Regional Medical Center, where a patient in the emergency room was causing a problem.

11:50 p.m.: A caller reported an intoxicated man was out of control. Police responded and asked for rescue and ladder trucks because he was 40 feet up in a tree off West Walnut Street. Police and firefighters responded. The man was taken to the hospital.
