Police Log: Man Charged with Battering Pregnant Woman, Van Stuck in Bushes

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 30

6:03 p.m.: Firefighters and police responded to Water Street, where a man reported a large amount of smoke in the kitchen.

7:34 p.m.: Police responded to Water Street, for a reported domestic assault. Police arrested Luis Guaman, 21, of 12 Water St., Apt. 8, Milford, on charges of domestic assault and battery, assault and battery of a pregnant woman, and two counts of intimidating a witness.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

6:10 a.m.: Police were told a full-sized van had backed into some stairs and was stuck, on Elm Street. Tony's Collision was contacted. Police found minor damage to a stone wall and reported the van was stuck on bushes before it was pulled out.

9:08 a.m.: A caller at H&R Block on East Main Street reported illegal dumping near the Dumpster in the corner. A white van was near the Dumpster, police were told.

10:53 a.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters and reported vandalism to a house on Lawrence Street.

1:30 p.m.: Wires were reported down on Eben Street.

2:22 p.m.: A woman asked to speak to police about her being harassed by another woman.

4:03 p.m.: A caller at a Main Street building asked police to respond because a man was loitering in the lobby. She thought he was looking to squat for the night. Police responded but the man was gone.

4:19 p.m.: A woman refused to leave the Milford Fire station on Spruce Street. An officer responded, and took her to the MBTA train station at Forge Park in Franklin.
