Police Log: Man Arrested on Drug Charges, Woman Scammed

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

In the overnight police log, officers arrested a man from Wareham on several drug offenses, and driving offenses, following a motor vehicle stop. Officers also spoke to youths who were swearing and yelling on Fruit Street.

Tuesday, April 24

4:40 p.m.: A caller reported a hit-and-run at . No injury was involved.

4:50 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Colonial Road, police arrested Michael Wiggins, 42, of 5 Dennis Ln., Wareham, on charges of possession to distribute Class B drug, Possession of Class B drug, subsequent offense, possession of Class D drug, operating a motor vehicle with suspended license, subsequent offense, speeding in violation of special regulation, and two warrants. The 2009 Ford Escape he was driving was towed.

4:57 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to report he was given a fake check.

5:45 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report that someone had called her at 2 p.m. and said "they would kill her brother." She said she sent them the money, "but the person is still harassing her, and now threatening to kill her." Police referred her to another police department because she lived in another town.

5:56 p.m.: A caller near Fruit Street complained that 10 kids were hanging out near the parking area "yelling vulgar words and screaming." An officer spoke to them.

8:40 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said she had been receiving harassing phone calls from an ex-boyfriend. She had blocked multiple numbers, but he keeps getting through.

10:57 p.m.: A caller reported a man and a woman were in a physical argument outside her house on Sumner Street. An officer caught up with the man outside and spoke to him. No arrests were reported.

Wednesday, April 25

9:21 a.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters to report someone had broken into her vehicle at and stolen items the previous day.

10:50 a.m.: An ambulance crew responded to , where an elderly woman had fallen off a chair in the aerobics room. She refused medical treatment at the scene.

12:17 p.m.: Firefighters responded to where a 28-year-old woman, who was nine months pregnant, had fallen. She was taken to

12:21 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report she had had her checks forged.

1:12 p.m.: Firefighters responded to , where a child was being unruly in the nurse's office. A police officer at the school requested a transport to Milford Regional Medical Center.
