Police Log: Jamaican Telemarketer, Arrests

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Dec. 14

4:50 p.m.: A caller at Shadowbrook condominiums reported someone was illegally dumping things.

5:12 p.m.: An ambulance driver reported a two-car crash at Prospect and Water streets. No injury was involved.

5:22 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Grove at South Main streets, police arrested Nicholas M. Rush, 31, of 187 Marrett Rd., Lexington, on charges of possession of a Class A drug, a warrant, motor vehicle lights violation and no inspection sticker. Police arrested Donald E. Manning, 37, of 22 Forest St., Milford, on a charge of possession of a Class B drug.

6:51 p.m.: An officer ticked a car at Applebee's for a parking violation.

7:06 p.m.: An officer ticketed a car at Kohl's.

7:24 p.m.: An officer ticketed a car at Target for improper use of a handicap placard.

Saturday, Dec. 15

12:27 to 12:53 a.m.: An officer ticketed five vehicles for violating the winter parking ban. The officer was on Claudette Drive, Birch Street and Sunset Drive.

1:18 a.m.: A woman reported she was outside Royal Buddha smoking a cigarette, and when she returned to her table, her purse had been stolen. Another woman walked in to police headquarters, saying she grabbed the wrong purse the previous night at Royal Buddha and was returning it. When it was returned to the owner, she said cash was missing.

2:00 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on South Bow Street, police arrested Justin S. Keefe, 33, of 434 Church St., Apt. 17, Whitinsville, on charges of OUI liquor, second offense, and marked lanes violation.

9:22 a.m.: A car was reported off the road on Cape Road, near in a ditch.

9:23 a.m.: A caller reported a car that was all over the road had turned into the Stop & Shop parking area. Police checked for the vehicle but could not locate it.

9:38 a.m.: A caller complained she was receiving constant phone calls from a Jamaican telemarketer. The party would not stop calling. She turned over the number to police.

11:23 a.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Prairie Street at East Main Street. No injury was reported.

12:09 p.m.: A 15-year-old girl reportedly fell out of a vehicle at Shaw's supermarket. She declined treatment at the scene when an ambulance responded.

12:49 p.m.: A caller on Northbrook Circle reported a rabid fox was in her backyard. Animal Control was responding.

3:50 p.m.: A man was in the road outside Milford Youth Center, reportedly having a seizure. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

4:00 p.m.: The Milford animal control officer asked for police assistance in putting down a sick animal.

9:12 p.m.: State Police reported a man said he was being threatened by another man. Police arrested Manuel Guaman, 31, of 96 Main St., Apt. 3, Miford, on a warrant.

10:32 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to report a hit-and-run on Hayward Street.

11:28 p.m.: Police received several calls from Grove Street concerning screaming and yelling outside a home. Police are seeking a summons to charge Alcindor DeOliviera, 34, of 52 Grove St., Apt. 2, Milford, on charges of domestic assault and battery, malicious destruction of property, more than $250 and intimidating a witness.

Sunday, Dec. 16

12:43 a.m.: A caller reported a woman was screaming outside a house on Lawrence Street. Police responded and determined a man at the scene was telling a woman she could not drive drunk. No crime was committed.

1:39 a.m.: Loud music was reported on High Street.

2:26 a.m.: Loud music was reported on Water Street.

4:50 a.m.: Milford Regional Medical Center asked police to check on the well-being of a woman on Grove Street, who had given birth the previous night and checked herself out of the hosptial. The hospital staff received a tip that she was walking around town. Police checked the area, but were not able to locate the woman.

8:14 a.m.: A stolen vehicle was recovered on Cedar Street at Fortune Boulevard, after State Police in Millbury reported parents had brought their son into the Foxborough barracks. The son told police he had stolen a motor vehicle and left it on Cedar Street, near Lowe's.

9:30 a.m.: A caller reported his girlfriend had assaulted him, and left in her car about 10 minutes prior. She scratched him and bit him, he reported, and threw a gallon of water on him when she left. After speaking with the woman, police are seeking a summons to charge Brian Veneziano, 27, of 21 Simon Dr., Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

10:16 a.m.: A caretaker for an elderly man at Fairfield Court reported he was missing a firearm and the box, but still had the ammo. The weapon was a .357 magnum.

10:22 a.m.: Police and firefighters responded to Green Street at Cape Road, for a two-car collision with injury. At least one person was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

10:26 a.m.: Police responded to Medway Road, after a caller reported a domestic incident. The caller heard fighting all night into the morning. The husband was now yelling to call police because the wife was beating him. Police responded but no arrests were reported.

10:40 a.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Main at Prospect streets. A woman reported having neck pain. 

12:42 p.m.: Police responded to Fairfield Court, to confiscate the license to carry, firearm ID, and weapons and ammunition from the caller who earlier had reported a missing .357 magnum. A rifle and ammunition were recovered.

12:45 p.m.: Loud music was reported on Senate Road.
