Police Log: Intoxicated People, Assault on Police Charges

Saturday, July 21

2:02 p.m.: A caller reported his Jeep had been broken into at

4:33 p.m.: A caller reported a pole on Ivy Lane has wires hanging too low, and the pole could be coming down. National Grid was contacted.

4:44 p.m.: A caller reported the owner of was having a dispute with a customer.

6:13 p.m.: A woman at who was having medical problems was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

6:30 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on West Street, at West Maple Street, police arrested Sean W. McInnis, 31, of 141 Highwood, Franklin, on charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer. Police took a 30-year-old Medway man into protective custody. A police sergeant called for an ambulance to treat a man with face lacerations.

6:58 p.m.: A caller reported a truck was leaking a large amount of water on Highland Street. The company was contacted.

7:20 p.m.: A larceny was reported at . An officer was flagged down by someone saying the suspect was behind . Another officer found the suspect at the beginning of the

7:36 p.m.: An officer was flagged down on East Main Street by someone reporting an intoxicated man was yelling. The man could not be located.

8:24 p.m.: A theft of a phone was reported on Prospect Heights. Police responded. The phone was returned.

9:11 p.m.: A disturbance was reported at Fino Field. An officer removed several males and a female from the location.

9:15 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of an intoxicated female at Water and Prospect Streets. He was standing by until her parents could pick her up.

9:48 p.m.: A fireworks complaint was logged on Village Circle.

10:14 p.m.: An officer took a man into protective custody at theproperty, and took him home to Court Square.

10:51 p.m.: A disturbance was reported at Two intoxicated men came into the store and tried to purchase alcohol. When the clerk refused, they caused a scene and threw gum, as well.

10:51 p.m.: A theft was reported on Prairie Street. A caller said her ex-boyfriend entered her property and took several items, including a flat screen TV. Police are seeking a summons to charge Stephen R. Motuzas, 44, of 26 Simmons Dr., Milford, with breaking and entering a building in the daytime for a felony and larceny more than $250.

10:54 p.m.: A caller said she could hear snapping branches in the rear of her home, and is concerned because it's a wooded area. Police checked the Oliver Street home and all was OK.

11:33 p.m.: Vandalism was reported at the Portuguese Club.

11:46 p.m.: A caller on Pinewood Road reported loud music from a neighbor's house. Police determined the noise was coming from the

11:57 p.m.: Police took a 28-year-old man into protective custody at the Portuguese Club.

Sunday, July 22

12:05 a.m.: A caller reported she could see a man and a woman arguing on Congress Street at Pleasant Street. The argument was taking place in the road. Police could not locate the couple.

12:31 a.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Water Street, police arrested Jose Varela, 41, of 5 Mechanic St., Apt. 1, Milford, on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. National Grid was contacted for a struck pole.

12:35 a.m.: Police responded to a disturbance on East Main Street, where multiple people were reported to be coming in and out of a residence, yelling and playing loud music.

12:50 a.m.: A man who was on the ground in the rear of was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

1:25 a.m.: Police received a noise complaint about a large party on Purdue Drive.

1:30 a.m.: A caller on East Main Street reported someone was banging at her door. It was a person who was looking for a friend, and knocking at the wrong apartment.

1:35 a.m.: Police responded to Water Street, where a large group was beginning to cause a disturbance.

1:47 a.m.: Police responded to Water Street, near , to check on a female. An officer took the female home to her daughter.

2:46 a.m.: A man in dark jeans with a baseball cap was seen yelling on East Main Street. Police could not locate him.

3:40 a.m.: A caller reported a man who did not appear to be wearing pants or shoes was out on Madden Avenue. Police took him home.

4:32 a.m.: A caller reported his wallet was stolen by a guest, on Lawrence Street.

12:33 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and said he had come home to his Hayward Street home on Friday night and noticed his TV was missing.
