Police Log: Girlfriend Takes Man's Dentures, Heated Soccer Game

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, Oct. 7

9:25 a.m.: A caller reported a cat had been struck by a vehicle on Highland Street, at Redwood Drive.

9:50 a.m.: A man with a language barrier reported he was assaulted. "When trying to obtain his location he kept stating 'Portuguese.'" The 911 mapping put his location at Mystic Lane and the Portuguese Club. The caller then disconnected. Dispatch was not able to get him back on the phone. An officer responded to the area, and stated: "It was a soccer game that got heated."

10:18 a.m.: A caller reported a speeding vehicle behind her on Purchase Street had almost rear-ended her.

10:52 a.m.: A man returned a black wallet that he had found near Rockland Trust on Main Street.

1:04 p.m.: A caller reported seeing a man and a woman in the parking lot of the yelling at each other. 

2:37 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report a woman was sitting outside a Pontiac at Rite Aid on Prospect Street, looking "a little out of sorts." She asked for a well-being check. An officer checked and she was OK.

3:03 p.m.: A Milford man told police he had sent $2,000 to London for a woman to come to the U.S. Then he received a phone call from a doctor saying she had been in a bad accident and "was not going to make it." He reported the incident to police as a possible fraud.

9:23 p.m.: A woman asked police to remove her boyfriend from her home. She said he was out of control and had stolen her phone. Police filed a report.

9:42 p.m.: Police and firefighters responded to a two-car crash at Congress and West Walnut streets. At least one person was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center. Both vehicles were towed.

Monday, Oct. 8

1:26 a.m.: A man called police to report he had had a disagreement with his girlfriend, and she had taken his dentures and will not give them back. Police spoke to the couple.

6:58 a.m.: An officer reported he had come across an unoccupied vehicle that had struck a pole on Central and Front streets. The vehicle was towed and National Grid was contacted.

8:29 a.m.: A caller reported a Lincoln Towncar had been parked at Milford High School for three days, with a man inside. Police determined he was a private investigator, and advised him he had to register as such beforehand at the police department.

9:43 a.m.: A man reported he had lost his wallet, with passport inside.

11:13 a.m.: A caller asked police to check on the driver of a vehicle at Hayward Street who looked like she needed help. Police checked and she reported everything was fine.

11:55 a.m.: A police sergeant spoke to several youths who were skateboarding in a parking lot behind Main Street.

12:39 p.m.: A caller reported his car was broken into on Hale Avenue overnight.
