Police Log: Fire Crews Respond to Electrical Odor on West Street

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Thursday, May 15

At 7:26 a.m., a caller reported to Milford Police that a vehicle was parked illegally in the park on Church Street. 

At 10:57 a.m., police received a report of smoke showing at the Mendon Tower in the area of Central and Beaver streets. Officers responded and found that paving work was being done int he area, and was the source of the smoke.

At 2:14 p.m., police received a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of Dilla and Sumner streets. No injuries were reported. 

At 2:18 p.m., police received a report of "popping" noises coming from the Fox Lane area. A caller stated it may have been fireworks, a gun shot or a transformer. Police responded to the area but could not locate a noise source.

At 2:19 p.m., police received a report that a fire pump was running near Lowe's on Fortune Boulevard. 

At 2:32 p.mm., police received a report of an accident near K-Mart on Medway Road involving a red Ford Focus and a Grey SUV. 

At 2:37 p.m., police received a report that a wooden door was located in the middle of the roadway near Cedar and East Main streets. The Milford Highway Department was notified. 

At 4:03 p.m., a caller reported that three small children were playing in the roadway in the area of Joan Circle and Reservoir Road.

At 5:19 p.m., police received a request to check on a group of youths who were reportedly waving cars down on Reservoir Road. 

At 7:58 p.m., police and fire crews responded to a location on West Street after a caller reported that light bulbs burst in a building and residents could smell smoke. No smoke or fire was showing upon arrival, and the odor was an electrical odor, according to police records.
