Police Log: Fire Crews Respond to Backyard Fire on Rich Road

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Wednesday, March 26

At 1:31 a.m., Milford Police responded to The Larkin Company Realtors building on Main Street on a report of several people outside whom a caller was not sure if were trying to get into the building. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

At 1:10 p.m., police received a report from an employee at the Milford National Bank and Trust on East Main Street, who claimed that fraudulent calls have been made on behalf of the bank.

At 2:41 p.m., police responded to the Milford Library on a report of larceny. A caller reported that her daughter's cell phone was stolen by two classmates at the library.

At 4:06 p.m., a caller reported that someone from an 800 phone number had called to obtain personal information under the identity of National Grid.

At 6:08 p.m., a caller reported that a man was calling her house continuously saying he was from Homeland Security and would be arriving at her house to arrest her. 

At 7:18 p.m., police and fire crews responded to Rich Road to extinguish a fire about 10 feet wide in the back yard of a home, the owner of which reported that it may have been started by wood pellets. The fire reportedly spread to the filters of a pool and a plastic fence.
