Police Log: Fight Moves from Laundromat to Tedeschi, Houses TP'ed

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, July 5

8:59 p.m.: An officer said he was in the area of South Main and Fruit Street, looking for possible fireworks.

11:50 p.m.: A caller reported a person was driving, possibly intoxicated, on Prospect Street. The driver was crossing lines and moving at different speeds. A BOLO was put out to all cruisers.

Saturday, July 6

12:59 a.m.: A woman reported ongoing problems with her ex husband. An officer advised her, and said it was a civil matter.

1:05 a.m.: An officer asked for additional police to Tedeschi Market, following a fight. Police arrested William F. Cahalane, 23, of 127 Church Ave., Northbridge, on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. Another officer arrested Steven Strapponi, 23, of 10 Vassar Dr., Milford, on charges of disorderly conduct and assault and battery. An officer requested an ambulance respond to Village Laundromat, where someone was down following a fight that broke out at that location and then carried on to the parking lot, across the street, at Tedeschi. The person declined medical treatment.

9:19 a.m.: A caller asked police to respond to her mother's house to keep the peace while she moved things out.

1:16 p.m.: A landlord asked police to file a report about vandalism, at a property on Water Street.

2:46 p.m.: Uxbridge Police reported a man had made suicidal statements to his wife, who then proceeded to give him all the parts to his rifle, along with ammunition. The man left Uxbridge headed for the Vietnam Trails area of Milford. Police searched the bike path parking lots, Sports Authority, Wendy's and other locations for his car. Other officers checked hotel parking lots. Uxbridge Police located the man, and the search was cancelled.

7:32 p.m.: A lifeguard at Casey Memorial Pool reported his phone had been stolen.

8:43 p.m.: A woman on Howard Street said cars were parked on both sides of the road, trapping her in her house. An officer spoke to homeowners who were having a party and they said they would have the vehicles moved.

8:59 p.m.: A caller on Water Street said someone dumped water bottles and batteries in his yard.

9:24 p.m.: A caller reported a loud party in a backyard on Hayward Street.

9:34 p.m.: A caller reported fireworks were being set off on Central at Beaver streets.

9:35 p.m.: A caller on Claudette Drive reported fireworks were being set off.

9:50 p.m.: A caller reported a woman had walked into his house on Country Club Lane and threatened his son. The woman was no longer there. Police reported this is an ongoing problem.

10:11 p.m.: Several people called police to report a man in his 30s was walking straight into traffic on East Main Street, near Oliva's. Police spoke to the man, who appeared to be OK.

11:35 p.m.: A caller on Sanclemente Circle said his house had just been toilet-papered. The people left in a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

11:38 p.m.: A caller on Beaver Street told police a party was going on outside.

11:56 p.m.: A caller on Purchase Street said a large group of people was being loud.

Sunday, July 7

12:11 a.m.: A caller on Eben Street said his house and car were toilet-papered.
