Police Log: Elderly Woman Hit by Bicyclist; Neighbor and Roommate Disturbances

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 7

9:54 a.m.: A caller at Town Fair Tire said a tractor-trailer was parked in the lot, and they didn't know who it belonged to. Police checked and found a man sleeping inside. He moved the truck.

11:27 a.m.: A caller reported her husband went to Sew Much More and found the front door unlocked. All the lights were off and he called out but no one answered. An officer spoke to the business owner and said everything seemed OK.

11:41 a.m.: A caller on South Bow Street said someone broke into his house while he was on vacation.

1:07 p.m.: Riverside Community Care/Hamilton House asked police to check on the well-being of a woman who had left and said she would be back with someone to pick up her medications.

1:39 p.m.: Riverside Community Care/Hamilton House told police a woman had made threats earlier at the site and was now back on the property. She was wearing a bright blue sweatshirt and baseball cap.

2:49 p.m.: A caller on Hayward Street told police a driver in a white Yukon was circling the neighborhood.

3:11 p.m.: A caller said he found a credit card at Shaw's. Police contacted the owner who would be picking it up at the station.

3:56 p.m.: A caller on Grant Street said a red or maroon Volvo had been driving past her for 20 minutes.

4:13 p.m.: A caller reported her father was choking. Police and EMTs responded but the object had been cleared.

4:32 p.m.: Two detectives were at the Tradesman after pulling over a vehicle. Police requested a tow truck and an animal control officer for a dog. Police arrested John W. Simmons, 30, of 73 Grove St., Apt. 1, Milford, on a warrant.

4:59 p.m.: A caller on Kennedy Lane reported she was assaulted by her roommate. An officer said she would be coming into police headquarters to get a restraining order. A homeless shelter had room for the other woman.

5:33 p.m.: A caller reported kids were playing in the road on Rolling Green Drive.

5:40 p.m.: A woman on Pheasant Circle said her boyfriend had destroyed their apartment. He left on foot. Police responded and an officer determined the broken item belonged to the man. The woman did not want a restraining order.

6:40 p.m.: A caller on Moschilli Circle said several items had been taken from her home. Police are seeking a summons to charge Tyler J. Bingham, 21, of 80 Beaver St., Milford, with larceny over $250.

8:39 p.m.: A caller on Westbrook Street said her boyfriend hit her car, after leaving after an argument. Police filed a report.

9:22 p.m.: A caller reported she found someone on Craigslist selling medications. The call was referred to detectives.

11:47 p.m.: A caller on Senate Road reported a lot of screaming and banging at the address. Police received a second call from a woman asking for help. Police responded and determined an intoxicated man had fallen down some stairs but was refusing medical treatment.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

12:27 a.m.: A caller on Maher Court said she was attacked by her neighbor, who was possibly intoxicated.

2:10 a.m.: A caller on Silver Hill Road said she had a strange taste in her mouth and had just had the chimney cleaned. She asked the Fire Department to check it out. The woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

8:24 a.m.: A caller reported he struck a chain link fence near Burger King.

9:37 a.m.: Police responded to Sunoco on East Main Street where a caller reported someone owed him $20 for gas. Police determined it had happened the week before. Police are seeking a summons to charge Daniel J. Bowzer, 26, of 19 Lena LN., Milford, with larceny under $250. Police also are seeking a summons to charge Eric A. Johnson, 33, of 29 Redwood Dr., Milford, with larceny under $250.

10:51 a.m.: A caller said a family member assaulted him. Police arrested Ashley Nicole Hendon, 20, of 90 Water St., Milford, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

11:07 a.m.: A woman asked to speak to an officer about an issue she is having with another woman repaying her.

2:35 p.m.: An elderly woman was struck by a bicyclist at Congress and Fayette streets. The woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

6:44 p.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters and asked to speak to police about a stolen debit card.

9:47 a.m.: An officer said he removed a group of kids from Honey Dew Donuts on Prospect Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 9

6:22 a.m.: A caller at Lowe's said he saw a man slumped over his steering wheel. Police checked but the car was gone.
