Police Log: Elderly Driver on Wrong Side of South Main, Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Milford police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police responded to a report of an elderly driver on the wrong side of Main Street, and to numerous reports of suspicious people, in the overnight log. Police also made several arrests.

Thursday, Dec. 15

2:43 p.m.: Police received a report of fraudulent checks attempting to be cashed at . Police arrested Michael Terranova, 20, of 15 Meadowbrook Ln., Harwichport, on charges of uttering a false check, receiving stolen property more than $250, attempting to commit a crime and larceny by check more than $250.

4:10 p.m.: A person walked in to police headquarters and reported that a man was "threatening to have him killed." Police were seeking a summons to charge Manuel Loja, 29, of 4 Clark St., Milford, with assault with a dangerous weapon.

4:20 p.m.: A caller near reported hearing two gunshots between Dilla Street and Fino Field.

4:30 p.m.: A caller on Carroll Street said two men were in the woods behind her house "making a lot of noise" and they looked suspicious. She said it was private property and she knows the owners "and those two males are not the owners."

6:03 p.m.: A caller told police a suspicious man was at the end of Jencks Road, walking up and down the street. The caller said he does not live there. Police were able to spot the vehicle but the man couldn't be found.

7:53 p.m.: An officer was assisting a person in recovering a pickup truck from someone who had borrowed it.

8:12 p.m.: A caller told police he was assaulted by another man on Baker Slip. He was unable to provide a motive or a name for the other man.

8:41 p.m.: A caller on Grove Street reported a missing person, and gave a name. Police determined the man is in ICE custody, not missing.

10:24 p.m.: Police and firefighters responded to Interstate 495 Southbound at Cedar Street, for a report of a crash with injury. One person was taken to

Friday, Dec. 16

2:08 a.m.: A Lincoln Towncar was repossessed on Mt. Pleasant Street.

4:16 a.m.: A caller reported seeing a man in a black hoodie looking into cars near

7:36 a.m.: Firefighters and police responded to on Prospect Street for a report of a two-vehicle collision. No injuries were reported. Both cars were towed.

9:09 a.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Godfrey Lane. No injury was involved.

9:46 a.m.: A caller told police she believed someone had broken into her car overnight on Mt. Pleasant Street. An officer reported that when the owner got into her car, the radio was on, but nothing was missing.

9:59 a.m.: Firefighters and police responded to a two-car crash on Depot Street near Two people were taken to the hospital.

11:24 a.m.: A broken water pipe was reported near .

11:30 a.m.: A caller observed an elderly man driving on the wrong side of South Main Street, near Police responded but the man was gone.

11:40 a.m.: A caller said the lockbox at St. Mary's Rectory was broken into.

11:56 a.m.: A two-car collision was reported on Fortune Boulevard, near Photofabrication Engineer. Three people declined treatment.

1:52 p.m.: A sprinkler leak was reported at A contractor was working on the device.
